5 great games, 1 bad game, nah I'm not treating him like the pariah of the season.

You all that have been chomping at the bit for him to have a bad game can go insert long objects up your rectum.

What 5 great games has he played man? He is WAY too up and down. Just like last year when Lock came in and did alright, I'd rather see what we have with Howell. Geno is the most bipolar qb I've seen lol

They're basically jacking off to it. It's shameful.
meh 5 great games and he’s got 6 touchdowns and 6 picks on the year? I’d argue saying that is almost as goofy.

This was his first terrible game of the year for sure. He’s been fine the rest of the time. Being on pace for 17 touchdowns and 17 picks isn’t playing great though any way you slice it.

On the bright side though we know he’s capable of playing much better and I’m sure he will. Give this team some time to settle in

Coaching staff saw Howell in preseason and sees him weekly in practice. Respectable NFL teams don't kneejerk bench their QBs at .500 mid-year, especially when their QB hasn't typically been the main cause of their losses.

Don't worry, Folks.

Geno is still young and has many years ahead of him to become elite.

I don't think it's "goofy," although I probably wouldn't grade each of the other 5 as great myself. I think Montana is a more keen observer than the majority of posters here and has been for the 13 years I've read the site and dismissing his viewpoint as goofy without a more detailed rebuttal isn't super cool.

Saying he’s had 5 great games and he had 5 total touchdowns and 5 picks while calling everyone else who disagrees as stupid is by definition goofy.

Lot of blame on both sides of the ball, but don't give Geno a pass. He did throw 2 INT and the last one was costly.

Man, I totally respect your opinion 100%. Geno has done this the last few years.. Up and down, repeat process. I have nothing against him, I root for him when he is on, but these types of games makes me want to see if something can spur some hype.im tired of these types of games where he gets into his own head.

Geno has not had 5 good games in my opinion. He has 2 average games, and 2 excellent games. 1 horrible game.
Now this game being that horrible against a team that would show if he is on the up and up. But he choked. In my opinion he is what we thought he was.

Geno choked tonight!

He gets late game yardage but lacks that ability to take charge and win the important games. He’s an OK QB at times but really lacks the royal jelly of a consistent winner.

Feel free to disagree but if you look at the results he’s an OK QB but not special or a winner.

Tonight he was clearly off in the first half, inaccurate an indecisive, this is becoming a pattern. I am still not a fan though have been close at times, then he throws a clinker and it’s clear he’s an amazing backup level QBs but not ‘the guy‘ to lead this team from being average or worse.

i sound harsh and maybe I’m over reactive but I see what I believe I see.

That's not what he said, though. He called out those who are gleefully victory lapping over a bad game, and stated that he wasn't making Geno a pariah of the season after one bad performance which is vastly more reasonable.

He called him the best QB in the league last week with 5 touchdowns and 5 picks. Many on here have been jumping on anyone and everyone who is even remotely critical of him. Both extremes of this debate have been a little unfair to the other side so it’s not s surprise people are going to overreact after a bad game. If Geno has a monster game next week the same 3 people always def ending Geno are going to do the same thing. It is what it is.

Extremists like saying Geno is the best in the league and then cry foul when people push back after a bad game is bad faith acting imo.

Geno doesn't have the "IT" factor... anyone with eyes can see it. He's just average. Nothing he has scares other teams defense.

The person most think is the best QB in the league has the same exact TD/INT ratio, so is it really that bad? It's a horrible thing to actually judge a passer by if we're talking about their overall caliber.

The us vs. them shit is nauseating. The real war is between posters who care enough to back up their opinions with actual analysis, and those who are more concerned with facilitating a culture war between factions of posters - and I'm comfortable saying that people who display glee when their quarterback fails are usually on the wrong side of that war, because the dreaded Geno defenders usually take a lot more into account than box score stats, and box score stat guys usually funnel directly into the Geno disliker crowd.

This thread is a good example, in fact. The OP is just a blatant call-out to sew further discord.

Yes comparing mahomes to Geno is that bad. There not even remotely close lol. People who aren’t thrilled by Geno by definition aren’t looking past box scores too? You frame it so only your side is right and the other side can’t be and not only that you question their motives and integrity by doing so. That’s not fair to them just as it’s not fair when it’s directed at you.

You have a tendency to say your side is always more reasonable, less emotional, more objective etc but the other side feels the same way and the truth is neither side is any better than the other. Your bias, as does theirs, blinds you in seeing the fault of your side.

And yes before it’s stated, I can be guilty of this too, we all can.

Geno did suck today. It was like he is afraid of the 49's or some PTSD stuff.

Geno has been a good QB since taking over surpassing many people’s expectations mine included. He’s gotta play better just like the rest of the team moving forward. I think they will.
