Terrible spot for Wilson. Manning and Flacco? Manning is a chokemaster in the playoffs.

How he put Flacco up there is beyond me. Gil is another Cowboy homer so...

He should be higher than Matt Schaub without a doubt, especially with how Schaub has been playing recently. You could argue that he should be higher than both RGIII and Luck, but it's the same argument we're having about the Rookie of the Year award.

However I have no problem with Flacco being rated higher than Wilson. Flacco has played in nine playoff games in four years, winning five of them, has been to Conference Championship game twice, and was one horrible dropped pass away from playing in the Super Bowl last season. Wilson, as great as he has been, has never played in a playoff game under this kind of pressure.

How having said that, I fully expect that Wilson will handle the pressure very well. If the rankings are done again next season Wilson will (almost undoubtedly) be ranked higher than Flacco unless Baltimore plays in New Orleans in four weeks.

hmmm . . . i guess they must have experience as a big part of this . . . as for Luck, i really do believe his is a very good QB, and will be even better, but don't think he has had the season either RGIII or Wilson has had . . . everyone keeps saying that Luck has the worse players around him of all teams in the playoffs . . . i'm not sure i agree . . . first, this was a playoff team 2 years ago, then they lost manning and had a bunch of injuries to DB's, lb's, dt's and o-lineman and even wrs' . . . they played BAD last year with all of those injuries and finished last (a lot of people out there believe intentionally to have a shot at luck . . . yes, suck for luck . . . i am not saying they did, but in a lot of ways it sure seemed to be the case) . . . not only did they get luck this year, but they beefed up their offensive line, traded for a top flight corner, drafted some good young wr's and defensive players and got a lot healthier with guys like freeny and mathis back at full strength . . . they were not as bad as last years record would indicate as the team that played last year is not really even the team playing right now . . .

Luck is good and will be better, but he is not winning all by himself . . .

This. I have been wondering how much more the colts will take being called horrible besides luck. Pretty soon, that team is gonna turn. Pretty sure it was lucks defense keeping him in games after he threw pick after pick. With out that, there is no luck comebacks.

Saying luck has a horrible team surrounding him is a major slap in the face to 52 other men brining them to 11 wins.

Thanks for the laugh. What a ridiculously terrible list. He got the top 3 right, or close to right, and he got #12 right. After that it's just moronic. I could choose #4-#11 via a raffle and have a smarter list. Reading that list didn't make anyone smarter, although it probably made them more aware of how much bias Brandt has for experience.

It's not just Wilson I'm offended by. Dalton is having a great season with real signs of growth as a QB. Kaepernick probably deserves better than #11. RG3 was #3 in passer rating and was just #8 on this list. Flacco, Luck, and Schaub all stunk up the place for large parts of the season, yet still all finished ahead of RG3 and Wilson, the two best statistical rookie QBs in NFL history.

Really, I think he sums it all up in one perfect statement:

Statistics don't tell the story when it comes to quarterbacks; wins do.

Co-signed: Tim Tebow, Vince Young, Michael Vick, 2006 Rex Grossman and 2011 John Skelton.

Um, Manning is one of the greatest Quarterbacks in the history of the game, and is having an MVP type season. Russell is very good, but come on, nowhere near where Manning is.

aaaaaand he has a losing record in the playoffs in his career. I don't care how "great" he is, or how many regular season MVPs he has.

Lay off he crack pipe. To say that right now Wilson is better than manning is just stupid.

Did I say Wilson is better anywhere? No, I didn't. I said Peyton Manning is overrated in the playoffs.

You inferred it with your original post.

Oh I just can't help myself.

Manning had the 4th Easiest schedule in the League (.457), and 2nd worst schedule only to Indy.
Manning and the Bronco's had the 6th worst strength of Victory in the league (.385)
http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type ... order/true

Add to the fact that Denver has a #5 Defenese (DVOA), it's not like he's done much better than Luck.
Manning is a legend (and deserves to be), along with a great story. But the Bronco's are going to get exposed quickly.
Point being, what makes Manning better than Russell? It's the same argument I use against luck.

Simple. Manning has a track record. Luck and Russell do not.

I can't believe you are actually thinking that Russell Wilson is better than Manning. Let's back off a little and wait.

Maybe down the road but Russell Wilson has a lot of work to do to match Mannings resume.

Oh I'm not camparing Russell Wilson to Payton Manning's career. That would be like comparing LeBron to Kobe when he first entered the league.

I'm talking about this season.

So lemme get this straight.. You think Russell Wilson, right now, is better than Payton Manning?

I don't know what to say to that.
