The problem with your stance on this is that there are also tons of soccer teams around the world that have no viable path to reach the World Cup still no matter HOW good they are, and only a handful of other countries in the world would be large enough to have a league the size of the NFL in them that wouldn't require outside international talent. International professional competition in soccer was born out of greed to make money as much as anything else, don't hold it up as some great paradigm that the NFL can't aspire to, lol. If you want to hold the NFL not having another international league that can reach the Super Bowl against it, by all means go for it, but I think that's a rather...limited stance to take in terms of logical analysis here.
If you win the NFC like we have done, you are the NFC Champions, if you win the Super Bowl you're Superbowl Champions that's all not World Champions as it's not a World Cup.

Anyway who gives two sh*ts right about now!!!

Congrats my brother!!!

Where is this other team or league that could compete with the Raiders let alone the Seahawks or Rams, today we seen the actual Super Bowl in my view. Patriots are good just don't think they are the same caliber as the Seahawks, Rams or 49ers this year.

Cat got your Tongue? Then the winner is world Champion, have a problem with that I suggest you convince someone to start a new league to compete like the AFL did back in the day.

What? Why would the cat have my tongue? I don't have any cats, they both passed away last year.

Unsure if you read my other posts but I pretty much said that there wouldn't be an outside team that could beat the SB champs, but that's just it, they're Super Bowl Champs, NFL Champions even but not World Champions.

Even NBA rings up until this year have World Champions on them but Germany are the winners of the World Cup & hence World Champions, do you not think it funny?

I just think, like I said, that it's funny that American sports winners are called World Champions & the original post about playing NFL games around the world would be the bare minimum needed to warrant that moniker.

No, teams would need to come from other places in the world and compete. So far I have not heard of any legitimate challenger of World Champions to discredit what the NFL call their Champions since nobody in the world has stepped up to take it.

You're right, makes sense. Just something I find funny, but it doesn't really matter though cause we are NFC World Champions baby!!!!

Just think about that for a moment.
"I'm against us traveling internationally."

I found a couple of other problems with my sentence structure, but I'll leave those for others.

As per your 'no US to Europe travel policy':

If you have 1 team in Europe by your stance they'd play every game in the US and never actually be in Europe.

If you have 2 team in Europe by your stance they'd probably have to play each other 6 times and then play 11 games in the US.

If you have 4 teams in Europe by your stance they'd have to play each other twice and then play 11 games in the US. It's doable, but massively unfair.

If you have 8 teams in Europe...yeah, good luck with introducing all that at the same time.

I understand your desire to not have any international travel from the US, but you can't realistically have a team in Europe and make them do all the travelling. Not to be funny but travel logistics would be the easy part of an international expansion. I don't see how the legal issues would be overcome.

I only wrote one short sentence - you created a straw man that you have managed to have a pretty detailed discussion with. Carry on.

While I get your point, I think if you achieve the highest win in a given sport that is possible across the entire planet, then the moniker "World Champions" is accurate and suitable. Like, would you consider a film that was made only in California ineligible for being called "the greatest film in the world" because it wasn't filmed in multiple different countries? Same with a music album or song? "Best in the world" (which is synonymous with 'World Champions') isn't defined as requiring international participation anywhere that I've ever seen.
No NFL championship team would back down from any other American football team on the planet.

It would be like the original Basketball Dream Team - Send your grey cup champs on down for a beating.

It's ok to be in favour of having teams in Europe, and it's ok to be against it. You said it's ok for teams to be in Europe but they would have to do all the travelling. I'm just asking you how that would work. Originally I just asked you to think about it for a moment. whatever. No big deal and moving on.

I don't believe there's a financially viable market for an NFL minor league product in Europe.
Yeah I said it more in jest but when the league folded the strongest teams were in Germany. All the remaining teams started moving there and they got relatively decent crowds.

That's how I remember it as well. There was going to be a 5th team in Germany, in a 6-team league.

Apparently Germany has a massive seahawks fanbase as the NFL tv deal started there around the time we won our last super bowl/LOB era.

Until someone comes and takes it away.

The winner of the NFL’s Super Bowl are “world champions”.

The winner of MLB’s World Series are the World Champions.

You want it to be different?

“come and take it”, and that’s about as AMERICAN as it gets.

I feel like the only American sports league that may eventually lose the world champion tag is basketball due to the rise and influx of European players entering.

Baseball and football have to much overlap with cricket and rugby to have successful leagues outside north America.
