Not liking the proposal to have every team play at least one international game. This is a U.S. sport, not a world sport.
Provided the bye week is before a Wednesday game, (and it should already be happening before Thursday games), then Wednesday games make a lot of financial and safety sense.Anybody who didn't see the 18th game coming must still believe in Santa Claus. I can also see the continued expansion into non traditional NFL days. Why not Wednesday and Friday night games? Just about any idea you can come up with for the NFL owners to make more money has already been thought of. I've said this before, but I'm still a little mystified that the NFL hasn't maneuvered a team into Canada yet. They talk about internationalization, yet no franchise in Canada when MLB, the NHL, and the NBA all have at least one team there.
First we would have to establish the exchange rate between Canadian and US points...Anybody who didn't see the 18th game coming must still believe in Santa Claus. You’re not wrong. Players might go for that.If it's 18 games then there needs to be 63 man rosters and 2 bye weeks.

While I get your point, I think if you achieve the highest win in a given sport that is possible across the entire planet, then the moniker "World Champions" is accurate and suitable. Like, would you consider a film that was made only in California ineligible for being called "the greatest film in the world" because it wasn't filmed in multiple different countries? Same with a music album or song? "Best in the world" (which is synonymous with 'World Champions') isn't defined as requiring international participation anywhere that I've ever seen.American sports where they crown themselves 'World Champions'
Gotta at least play internationally, let alone play other countries to claim that!
I for one am all for it, can't wait to see this year's NFC championship matchup played in Melbourne next year, I'll be making the trip to represent the 12's from NZ!

So to confirm, your stance applies to the World Cup as well then, right? The thing with your example is that films or songs from around the world could/would be considered before one is crowned best. The NFL while the pinnacle of the sport doesn’t consider all the other teams in the world who play the sport, could one of those teams beat the SB champions? probably not but they also don’t get the opportunity.
Not a biggy but as someone not from the states i always find it funny.
Did you spell pints wrong?First we would have to establish the exchange rate between Canadian and US points...
Oh, look, another fuzzy foreigner bagging on Americans.American sports where they crown themselves 'World Champions'

The problem with your stance on this is that there are also tons of soccer teams around the world that have no viable path to reach the World Cup still no matter HOW good they are, and only a handful of other countries in the world would be large enough to have a league the size of the NFL in them that wouldn't require outside international talent. International professional competition in soccer was born out of greed to make money as much as anything else, don't hold it up as some great paradigm that the NFL can't aspire to, lol. If you want to hold the NFL not having another international league that can reach the Super Bowl against it, by all means go for it, but I think that's a rather...limited stance to take in terms of logical analysis here.@RolandDeschain Yeah that’s how World Cups work, they hold qualifiers for all nations who want to compete. The NFL is a club competition in essence not international, so if they held a Club World Cup then club teams from across the world could qualify to compete against the other qualifiers to crown a Club World Champion.
