If and when Dan is shown the door, who should his replacement be? Who are actual, realistic candidates?
I don't think management cares enough to do it. They might do it after this year but I would be surprised if they did it now. I'm still baffled that in a billion dollar business teams hire feel good stories and guys with zero experience at managing at any level. Its bizarre.
Honestly its how little league teams hire. How this is a real thing at this level with this much money involved is almost beyond belief. The most disappointing and frustrating thing about the decision to hire Wilson as full time manager (not interim), is that the Mariners didn't even bother going through any kind of process to attempt to find an experienced major league manager with a track record of success at the MLB level. They just went with the feel good story and called it a day.
Why would anyone want to manage the M's just to be GM's whipping boy. Is Lou P still around?
