Saying this makes me sick but, considering the long view picture, we want SF to win next week vs NO if we want the Seahawks to have any chance at the #1 seed. The rest of NO's schedule is a soft schedule. I see NO winning out after SF.

Need SF to beat NO to give the Seahawks the #1 seed, and we need the Seahawks to win out.

I would rather have SF lose. Give us a bit of a cushion between now and the last game. Then hope the Aints lay an egg in the next few weeks.

If 49ers lose against the Saints, we get the tie-breaker against the 49ers. So even if they beat us in the final game we get the 2nd seed or possible 1st if the Saints stumble. I think im rooting for the Saints this week.

What tie breaker would Seattle have over SF in that scenario? We would have both lost to the Ravens, Saints and each other.

Can't do it. Geaux Saints. If that means we have to travel to New Orleans for the NFC Championship game, so be it.
This. Remember, in a dome and right now we're 6-0 on the road

this is what you call a win win situation, or it's a Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Rooting for the niners is the devils work. You open the door for him and he might to leave...

No question root for the saints. Bye week at number 2 seed, cushion against the niners. Division 1st, then 1st round bye. 1 seed vs 2 is 3rd on the list.

Difference between #1 and #2 is not that great. Even if we're #2, there's a chance the #1 loses before the final round.

Personally I think you’re all off you’re rocker. Let them tie and we can win out for the #1 seed. This way I don’t have to root for anyone

Feeling confident in a win going to NOLA in their dome for the NFC championship is crazy. It took a blown call last season for the Rams to squeak one out.

No. I understand division is important but recent history regarding the #1 seed being the easiest path to the SB confirms my thinking. Just ask the Pats what they think about the importance of securing the #1 seed.

I know the Seahawks are 6-0 on the road. It takes just one loss on the road in the playoffs to be booted from the playoffs. I think the best path to the SB is via a SF win. Nauseating I know, but it is what it is.

Also consider this. At seed #1, we likely draw Vikes or Packers. At #2, we draw Cowboys or Niners.

Playing for seeding is a good way to end up traveling. If the 49ers win, then it will be harder to get the tiebreaker if they beat us in week 17.

I believe we do have a good chance to win at New Orleans. We match up better against a statue QB than a running QB. We can win that game and may well do it. Of course New Orleans can win too. But I think matchup wise with our pass rush and a slow, immobile, older QB we can win that. It will leave you in the #1 seed position. For now..... For now..... With still some more football to be played.

Let's not get greedy, more then likely we lose another game if not 2 so even if NO finished 13-3 they still hold the tiebreaker over us. I wanted SF to beat GB but now i'm pulling for NO. My question is if us and the Packer finish with the same record who gets the 2 seed?

IMO, NO has a reasonable risk of dropping the game at Tennessee. Think Derrick Henry running wild and Ryan Tannehill having the game of his life, with no picks or turnovers. Think what the Titans did to the Chiefs a couple weeks ago. See https://www.titansonline.com/news/titan ... ver-chiefs

I think the more productive approach would be to say, let the teams play, and let's see the truth about who is the better team that day, NO, or SF! AS IF we actually in any way controlled or influenced the outcome, lol. And further, let's hope for one or both of them to unveil "Kryptonite schemes" against each other that Pete & Co. can study and make use of in our future matchups. How does SF defend Brees, Kamara, and Michael Thomas? How good is NO's defense against the run? Does NO find a way to expose SF in the passing game? Either W/L outcome is GOOD for Seattle. What matters is that we keep winning, that we go 1-0 each week.
