The whole team strikeouts are down across the board. It's the new coaches and staff and a de-emphasis on analytics and more emphasis on good old fashioned see ball hit ball old school baseball. They're getting more contact and longer at bats and focusing on hitting the ball to the big part of the outfield. Looks like most of the players have bought in.
It’s crazy how much it’s about keeping your eye on the damn ball. You can always tell when a player hits it hard his eyes are down on the ball as it hits the bat and when they swing and miss their eyes are in left field

Logan Evans's reward for going farther in a game than any other M's starting pitcher this season so far....get sent down to Triple A.

Really they need to rid themselves of Solano and Garver. A better bat and more power is sitting available as a FA - JD Martinez. I'd sign him to DH and move Polanco back to 3B/2B. Bring up Harry Ford as he couldn't be worse than what Solano is providing currently.
Unfortunately Polanco kills us at any position other than DH and now he can't hit so even that is questionable. I am all for Ford and Young coming up. I think it would be the perfect time to get their feet wet.

Send a pitcher down with a good ERA after 6 starts while not calling hot hitters up. Mariner baseball. If Kirby was pitching even ok it wouldn't seem as bad but he's throwing cheese every inning.

Oof. Ugly, ugly game. Rough night all around for the M's.

Sending Evans down less than 24 hours after providing the best start of the year for an M"s pitcher is a really feel bad move, and quite frankly, a pretty bad look imo. I wonder if they tossed him a handful of change for bus fare and told him not to let the door hit him in the ass on the way out.

Fugly. Flush it.

Nice of them to put Constano back in so he could get his first strike out.

Oh well, it's baseball.

Yup. 9-0, 9-8, it all counts the same. Sometimes you just get your a** kicked in baseball. Gotta' suck it and be ready to rock today.
While I don't agree with sending the kid down, they talked in 710 about how he knew it was coming. Just kind of surprised it was the day after maybe the best start for ANY M's pitcher this season. But oh well, I have no control over it. Head scratchers come with the territory, sadly.
I turned the game off when it was 5 zip. Early bed, not worth the energy. Then again, I get up at 4:15am for work.
