Yah…never in danger of losing.

But, even when you’re just ticking time off the clock, you don’t want to develop poor habits in the process (or make critical mistakes).

I guarantee you that MM is focused on making sure that the execution is flawless…to include backups being in the lineup.

Not a biggie imo but, he semi-sorta mentioned a ‘rough stretch’ there at the end.

Kubiak got "cute" (here comes the onslaught) yet again. There was no reason to be calling pass plays up that much.
But, had zero impact on the result. Just more annoying than anything.

Here’s my synopsis.

Picture Matt Damon in the emotionally charged therapy scene in Good Will Hunting……

When you are beating the shit out of a team in the second half and face third down.

“Its ok to punt”

(Pause)

“Its ok to punt”

(Pause)
“Look at me son, it’s ok to punt”

(I lean in and wipe the tears away while gently touching your shoulder)
“It’s ok to punt”.

I know I am just greedy, but my only regret about the game was that because it was a blowout, Darnold only threw two passes in the second half and JSN ended up with "only" 93 yards. Against those Cardinals cornerbacks, JSN racks up 200 yards if the game is closer.

Yeah, I have those petty things, too. :) Shutout, point differential, offensive stat padding, etc... But then I get sober again and realize it's just that, little petty shyt that doesn't mean much at all in the big picture.

In no way did I want JSN to play after the outcome was not in doubt, but my god, the way things were going in the first 20 minutes, you wonder how many yards he could have gotten against that team.

AMAZING first half

I don’t like letting up with a nice lead.

Maybe it’s human nature, maybe by design?
Either way it robs a bit of my excitement.
We could have put 60 on em but some coaches don't want to disrespect other teams by running up the score
It was a topic that I read , can't remember where but MM obviously is not one to rub their noses in an obviously blown game by continuing to throw deep and pile on
3 blowouts already and I clearly remember the first couple games KK called really cautiously as to now he lets it fly
The coaching knows where we're at now so I can't wait till next week , if we can win week 11 we might go undefeated rest of the way
Go Hawks

Well, it was a deflected int, a miffed snap from the new center...Otherwise it's just a TD with a lingering 2. Just happened at unfortunate times. Too.. our Defense was on the field a long time.. long long time. We really need to work on our 15 minute drives.
I've never heard of the "15 minute offense"

Brilliant

They won by 22. Zero chance that was ever in doubt. Other than not wanting them to pass on to back drives with a huge lead, I can't fathom not being stoked about today. That was a blast.
Clearly you have a good team when yoh win by 22, and 24 last week and people aren't happy. It's strange, to ME. But that's ok.
Only playing half a game and still win by 22. Dominate

So it was the game plan that caused the 3 turnovers? Just trying to understand.

Because for a running team (like we are supposed to be) the game plan SHOULD change when you are up by 30 plus in the 3rd qtr. It should change to ball control, grind the clock. Our turnovers didn't happen on stripped balls by the RB. We were throwing the ball, same as we did when we put up all of our points in the first half.
I think they were still having at bit of fun before those turnovers and then the game plan changed because of the errors. Can’t be greedy in the NFL cause that’s how you let the other guys find a way back in to the game. But I think we were gonna try a few more things before the turnovers and then Mike said ice em…

Dude from the point we went up 35-0 - 21 minutes and 27 seconds into the game - we dropped back to pass just FOUR times in the subsequent 38 minutes and 33 seconds.

Yes 2 turnovers came off the back of dropping back to pass - one came from a fairly fluked deflected ball and the other on a blindside strip-sack which came on 2nd and 15 after a false start (i.e. the kind of situation you say OK maybe it's acceptable to try a pass attempt here despite being 35-7 up). That's unfortunate, but also variance. If we were less than 20 points ahead for any point of the game maybe we would have needed to pass the ball more and it's more than likely we haven't gone from being the best offense in the league to one that turns over the ball every time the try to pass.
Nah I think the drop backs stopped after the errors, not the flurry of points

The reason, it’s damn fun. But this is the NFL. The cardinals looked like they didn’t belong on that field at first but we gave them a spark and they started playing better. But damn I love watching Sam throw the ball

After the cardinals got that lame ass first touchdown I was ok with running up the score
