My Seahawks Video Thread

Per @ivotuk 's suggestion, I have created this thread where, going forward, I will put all vids of Hawkblogger or any other Seahawks-centric video I come across where I feel fans will like.

I'm no longer going to create individual threads for individual videos that clutter up the main board.

So expect this thread to be bumped often.

Now without further ado :




Highlights :

- Rashid Shaheed and Sam Darnold's timing is on-point which is bad news for the rest of the league. Great news for us.

- Velus Jones Jr. had a good day which is nice for a change 'cause the only highlights I've seen were lowlights of him getting run over in Blitz-pickup drills and then trying (and failing) to act cool by attempting a Kip-up. Though Brian did point out that a lot of the plays he made were in the passing game as his background as a Receiver helped.

- Milroe continues to throw well which is very encouraging, throwing yet another 30-40-yard deep bomb to Mr. Jones who jumped up and wrestled the ball away (sounds like the defender had good position). Brian even called the throw Russell-Wilson'esque which was interesting to me.

- Jadarian Price has been great (though Brian didn't elaborate so I suppose it's now business-as-usual as this is the expectation. lol)

- Says Emmanuel Wilson does not take negative plays and is a lot more explosive than people give him credit for. Had a couple of big runs including a catch out of the backfield from Milroe. I can't wait to see him run over defenders when he gets the chance this coming season!!

- Anthony Bradford floored Beau Stephens during position drills. Maybe AB was sending a message?

- Funny moment involving Rylie Mills where during a pass play, he breaks through into the backfield and chases after Sam Darnold while making Dog noises! I really pray they put that on Hard Knocks!

- Of course in that same play where Rylie broke through, it was against Bradford where once again it's hit-or-miss (no pun intended) when it comes to pass-blocking while he's a monster in run-blocking.

- Darnold had a throw to JSN that was reminiscent (to me) of the one he had against the Texans where the ball traveled inches away from the defender's fingertips and into JSN's hands while in stride. The Defender in this case was Nehemiah Pritchett who was in good position. Just a better throw. I am so stoked for how good this offense is going to be this year.

- Andre Fuller had a few pass breakups

- Everybody is making plays per HawkBlogger (though it was a Padless practice, to be fair) but it sounds like everyone is on the same page and while we need to wait until the regular season games start, I believe that Fleury and this offense looks very promising.

- Elijah Arroyo, Tory Horton both had good days

- Jaylen Gaines had a solid day

- Potentially Bad news for Robbie Ouzts as he missed yet another practice. Speculation is rampant and hopefully it's nothing serious but if it's his neck again, this isn't good for both him (personally) and the team. Praying it's not his neck again.

Other notes :

- The entire Spurs organization was there.

- A lot of former players were in the building like Cliff Avril.

Great interview.

- Director Kaley talks about what goes into creating an episode.

- Explains the 300 hours of footage they had to condense to an hour.

- They determine which player they feel is a good character to follow and who has a great story (So I guess Darnold will be one of the focal points in a future episode)

- Says Hard Knocks was there when the players got their SB rings and we will see that in an episode. That should be cool.

- Talks about the cinematographers wanting to stop filming and wanting to film the Bald eagles. lol

- Mentions that "Coach MacDonald is going to be star of Episode 1".

After the interview was over, Brian showed a clip of it (maybe most of you seen it but if not, go to 16:38 of the video and you'll see him show it).

The context of the clip, according to Brian, is that he's speaking with Nick Emmanwori in his office.

GREAT CLIP. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.


- Moving on, Brian basically said he was excited (as we are all) for the first episode.

- So he then switched gears and talked about Mike Sando's latest QB-Tier and where Sam Darnold was ranked.

- Brought up the Athletic and this is where they ranked him :

Now he's the 14th ranked QB.

I'm sensing a trend here.

BTW, for those wondering, he's tied with Baker.

- Brian points out that Darnold moved up from a Tier 3 QB to a Tier 2 QB (a Tier that includes Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, Jared Goff, Jordan Love, Drake Maye - though I don't think he belongs above Sam, Caleb Williams - I agree with Brian here is that he's a highlight-reel player but not quite there yet, and Trevor Lawrence)


He also was incredulous to whomever gave Trevor a Tier 1 vote. lol

Press Conferences of Brian Fleury, Aden Durde, Jay Harbaugh.

Has to be the first time I've seen Brian do a Presser since the presser when he was being introduced.




I loved what I was hearing from Brian.

Guy really sounds like he knows what he wants and what to do.

No hesitation in his voice or anything.


EDIT : oh and the background noise is a bit annoying but this was LIVE and not cleaned up. I'm sure there will be OFFICIAL videos (that are only accessible on Youtube on their channel) down the road.

Highlights :

- Brian alluded to Hard Knocks a little (he said he would go more in-depth tonight on Real Hawk Talk with Nathan and Jeff Simmons) by pointing out that Hard Knocks showed the fights out of order.

- Back to practice, he mentioned the Hawks doing 1v1's in front of the whole team. And they pick out who to go against and it's not the typical pass rush drill like a Pass rusher and Offensive Lineman but it was any position (Receiver vs. Cornerback, RB vs. LB, etc.).

- Logan Brown vs. Connor O'Toole : Logan dominated

- Elijah Arroyo vs. Bud Clark : Arroyo beat Bud deep as Bud couldn't keep up. Brian pointed out it was not that Bud was slow but that Arroyo seemed to be having a great camp and hopes this translates onto the field during the regular season.

- Brian also points out that from what he's seen, Arroyo looks more like a difference-making RECEIVER at the TE spot.

- Mentions that as good as AJ Barner is, there is a ceiling on how much he can stretch a defense as he's not the fastest guy.

- #53 Joseph Vaughn (who just got here basically) had a great showing actually beating Jadarian Price (who then beat him deep on a pass though it was not by much as he had very good coverage on him).

- Rylie Mills vs. Mason Richmond : What a battle between two hosses. Mason wound up being thrown to the ground by Rylie. In fact, it was such a competitive rep, that toward the end of practice, MacDonald decided to throw these two out there AGAIN in a rematch.

- Brian then recounts a funny moment involving Jalen Milroe during that. He was just supposed to be the guy who said "hike" and received the ball before the two went at it but he actually hard-counted and got Rylie Mills to go offside and then Jalen double-finger-pointed to the defense at the sidelines who were not happy with him.

- Anyway, the rep eventually started and it was an absolute stalemate. Then they broke apart when it was over and there was some jawing (though Brian thought Riley was getting ready to deck Mason for some reason). Called it an Epic Rep.

- Talked about a moment during Practice where Sam Darnold was basically surrounded by Big Cat, D.Hall, and Tank and he didn't even have the ability to really get out. Normally in these situations where the QB can't be touched, he is allowed to just finish the play even after a would-be sack had occurred. In this case, he couldn't even go anywhere so Sam just stopped and the play was over. lol

- Defense was better but still not as good as the Offense.

- Brian thinks there seems to be a big emphasis by Brian Flurry to get Rashid Shaheed the ability to run after the catch, using his speed after the catch and not just on verticals. He couldn't go into more detail of course but that's what we want to hear.

- Yesterday was "Kids Day" at the VMAC and it was also Jake Bobo's Birthday(!!)
- talks about how the kids were singing Happy Birthday to him which Jake appreciated.
- They then started chanting "Jake Bobo" again and again, and then Rashid Shaheed kept egging them on as he saw it was starting to annoy him.
- But Jake used his big brain and redirected the kids attention to JSN behind him.

- Talked about Kickoff drill and mentioned Ricky White as a Returner as something to keep an eye on.
- Of course Horton did the returning for the most part. Brian thinks Tory is going to be doing both Kickoff and Punt Returns full-time which I don't agree with but whatever. His rationale is that there won't be enough reps to go around in the passing game.

I just subbed to this guy's channel. Never seen him before.

Anyway, the highlights :

- Said the offense ruled the day in this one. It was all about JSN and Rashid Shaheed.

- Interestingly enough, he pointed out that Shaheed showed his toughness in contesting catches.

- Also praised Rylie Mills.

We also had video from that practice.

BTW, Irv Charles is a big man.

We also got Pressers from MacDonald and D. Hall.

Very interesting tidbit to note that D. Hall actually alluded to the Hard Knocks episode regarding the fight and implied that he apologized.

- Greg basically praises the Hawks D and how they're coached.

- He also says that Price is going to be depended on quite a bit this coming season.

Ernest has great hair. (just thought I'd throw that out there)

*ahem* anyway...highlights :

- EJ enjoys seeing the fans even though they seem to cheer the loudest when it's the offense making plays on them.

- EJ jokes about being recognized at grocery stores and him attempting (and failing) to keep it on the down-low.

- He points out that this is a new season and while it's tempting to say "Hey! We're the Champs!", that's over and one with, the slate is clean and it's back to square-one.

- EJ is then reminded of that immortal quote he made in defense of Sammy D after the first Rams game. He first states that lots of teams try to copy what they have but fail because the Hawks players are authentic and genuine. Nobody cares about Personal Glory here (which I think was a bit of a shot at the Rams a little).

- As far as EJ's relationship with Sam went, he half-joked that he and Sam were "enemies" in the past where he threw him a pick that he dropped. (I'm guessing this was during the Playoff disaster when Sam was with Minnesota) But once he became his teammate, and he saw what Sam was about? In his words "Sam's my dawg and he knows I have his back".

- EJ then discussed briefly how he is as a leader.

- Praises Murphy, Big Cat and the rest

- Talks about how he enjoys intercepting the ball when he could and said he used to just go down but now wants to feel how JSN feels. lol

- Wyman mentions picking off Dan Marino and having the worst run-back of an INT ever and people gave him crap for it. EJ "sympathizes" and promised Wyman that he will go back and watch it so he can also give him crap for it. Funny stuff.

Highlights :

- Brian says the Defense FINALLY getting the best of the offense today after getting their ass kicked for a while

- Talks about the "True Sack" (Involving Darnold being totally surrounded by Big Cat, Hall, and company in Tuesday's practice) and then says there were more of those on Wednesday's practice.

- Defense had a ton of success and it was something they needed.

- Brian pointed out it's the best thing for the defense to have started with the offense so hot because you want the defense to be hungry and angry and feel like they've got to prove something.

- Feels this is great prep for the defense for the regular season

- Believes Charbs could be back by Week 1 but also thinks it's unlikely.

- Brings up something interesting in that Jadarian Price is participating in special teams and wonders how rare that is that a 1st-round-pick (and a RB at that) does this.

- Mentions Connor 'O Toole in Special teams and having the inside track at making the roster.

- Beau Stephens endearing himself to his teammates and the fans

- Said that MacDonald chose to not have it be a Padded Practice because of some players being a bit banged up but practice was still physical.

- Story of the day, from what Brian saw, was basically :
Quarterback goes back to pass, no one is open, he then tries to extend the play while running around, then ultimately either runs out of bounds, throws it out of bounds, or takes a sack. That was happening a lot.

- Coverage was good, the pass-rush was good, and the coverage was sticky for long periods of time.

- Talks about Irv Charles a little who had a solid day.

- Mentions Sam's savvy vet move in that he changed his cadence and caused the defense to jump offsides and from there turned things around for the offense a bit.

- There was a Deja-Vu moment where Sam threw a pass that was eerily similar to the pass he threw to Justin Jefferson in 2024 against the Seahawks. Now he did it as a Seahawk and Brian feels good about that.

All in all, the Defense forced the Offense to have to play PERFECT in order to get anything going and PERFECT plays weren't a-plenty for the Offense (though Sam for the most part, got a good amount of those plays).

Interview with Elijah Arroyo Highlights

- Elijah talks about him doing Camp in Mexico; Said he wanted to give back to the community since he lived over there for 5 years; Loved being there and having an impact on those kids; It was his first time doing something like that.

- Despite being a SB champ, he says he has the same approach to how he does things. He's still hungry and still has a lot to prove.

- Talks about his blocking and having the willingness to do it.

- When asked if it's easier to Run-Block or Pass-Block, he says neither are easy.

- Asked about how he felt being in that tight-end room with AJ and Eric. And he says Tight-Ends are a close-knit group and feels blessed to be a part of that.

Interview over.

Brian then moves onto Practice.

- Says Practice was kind of uneventful meaning there wasn't any surprises or shocking developments.

- Both the Offense and Defense were going back and forth so nothing new there.

- Feels that the offense had the upper hand again (meaning the offense had a bounce-back from a couple of days ago when the Defense kicked their ass)

- He's a lot less concerned about Running Back and Brian Fleury now than he was before.

- He IS, however, a bit concerned at the position at Corner. He points out that we really miss Nick Emmanwori (it was very encouraging, for me, to see him walking around without a boot) 'cause if he's not out there, it's very noticeable. Instead we had Nehemiah Pritchette and Noah Igbinoghene with Spoon and Jobe...and Coverage has been LACKING (to say the least).

- Of course he clarifies that doesn't mean they were terrible. Just that he didn't see a defense that was locking up receivers.

- That said, he brings up Pritchett with the play of the day where he intercepted a Sam Darnold deep pass aimed for Cody White where he caught it over his shoulder. I think this suggests to me that Sam didn't put enough air on it to reach Cody but I'm just assuming here and Brian didn't elaborate but instead praised Pritchett's pick.

- Drake Thomas also had a pick off of Sam as well. Though in this case, it sounded like it was miscommunication between Sam and the person he was throwing to (AJ Barner) which resulted in the ball going short and to the right and Drake alertly made an impressive diving interception.

- Talks about how Cooper Kupp has been so impressive in Camp.

- Emmanuel Wilson was maybe the the best back on the day today, according to Brian. Knows that Price wasn't out there today. Is he concerned? No.

- Also points out that Wilson's 1v1 blitz-pickup drill has gotten better

- It seems to me that "Perfect Throw, Perfect Timing" seems to be the phrase of Camp when it comes to Sammy D.



All of a sudden, Mina f'n Kimes makes an appearance out of nowhere and an impromptu interview happens.
