Not sure about his ability to read defenses but he sure as hell needs to work on his ball security!
It does help when receivers have both hands to use (What I noticed about some of his short to intermediate passes is too much arc, as if he's trying to approach them the same as the long bombs. If he can flatten those arcs into on-the-numbers bullets instead, and hit his receivers, we might have something.
threeTwo fumbles in one game. Needs to work on that
3rd round, 3rd string rookie QB in his 3rd preseason game with three fumbles
Now that the game is over. Im thinking he has no business on the field this year. Not even as a runner.Yup. What's interesting to me is that for as great of an athlete/runner as he was college, he's got a lot to learn in how to use his legs more effectively, especially in the pocket. And I haven't been at all impressed by how they've run the read-option, though that might be more a result of the coaching. You'd think Milroe would be great for the read-option, but it's been a big zero from what I've seen, and the fakes haven't had much fakery to them by my eyes.
Agree. He needs a full developmental year, learning an NFL playbook, adjusting to the speed of the NFL game, and all these little things that I notice. And with those 3 fumbles today, three, I don't think he can be trusted in a close game to handle the ball yet.Now that the game is over. Im thinking he has no business on the field this year. Not even as a runner.
Well, I assume we'll be picking in the 20's at least next year, so I'm not worried about missing out on a top 10 pick of a QB.The question is whether we want this guy blocking us from drafting a first-round QB should he fall to us next year.
I'd very much hope not after what I saw tonight.
Doesn't have to be Top 10.Well, I assume we'll be picking in the 20's at least next year, so I'm not worried about missing out on a top 10 pick of a QB.![]()
Right. The fact that he made a few plays at all and looked like the threat was there is all positiveI have zero concern with Milroe. We all knew who he was when we drafted him and he's a project with incredibly high upside
I still have aspirations of 2012, but not cause of Milroe, Russ was much more experienced as a 3rd rounder, even drafted by the Rockies, Russ was only a 3rd rounder cause of his height, Russ reset the standard for what kinda guy could play qb, there were others too like drew Brees and Fran tarkenton, but I don’t think teams really started accepting short QBs till after Russ, like Kyler Murray and even Bryce young. And honestly after Russ I don’t really want another short qb…Hopefully this puts an end to the "it's 2012 all over again" nonsense.![]()
