The thing is, as a first introduction of a new coach to his team it sounds pretty boilerplate to me.
Having said that, he has really shown the consistancy and dedication to actually make it happen. Players hear pep talks all the time, but when they hit the practice field and carry that on to the playing field they will know whether all that nice talk was BS or not. Obviously, Mike and his staff have followed through and the results show up in the W/L columns, which is the ultimate measuring stick in pro ball.
Here in the waning hours of his second season, it is obvious that Mike has this team well in hand and playing as a unit, a cohesive whole that is greater than the sum of its parts. Good times.
