Hey Mike, we totally appreciate everything you have done... but, your sick and you can't start, and even though we don't need to free up cap space we are dropping you. If you get better we might bring you back later.

Ya I know that Ware and Coleman didn't look very good, even against the Raiders, but we are the Seahawks, and we need everyone to know that we will absolutely under no circumstances show any loyalty. It's all about the winning my friend, you understand it's a business. Ya I understand you were a critical part of the team, but we just can't pay you the 2.5 mil.

You think the players don't look at this and say, "sheesh, these guys aren't going to get a team discount when my contract comes up."

Ok, it's over dramatic on purpose, but sheesh, come on Hawks.

Definitely worried about this. How much of ET or Sherman does 2.5m buy anyway? I think erring on the side of sentiment in this case maybe saves money down the line with other contracts.

Maybe it was the RRR that had Christine M. rapping about smoking pot that did it...
Say what you want, but with all the suspensions, that didn't look very good.

I just punched myself in the face.

Just read he only played 31% of snaps last year? That surprised me.

MRob was never a typical Cable type FB. Never will be. I'm not a "smart" football mind, but even I knew that.

2010, Seattle at Oakland, Marcelle Reese killed the Hawks. That's Cables type of FB. A NFL, gadget type.

lmao this move is terrible, we literally dont have a FB on the roster now. We have out of position scrubs that we force to play FB. Seems like something the raiders would do

You realize that A TON of teams don't have FBs on the roster....right?

Why is this surprising? They put Bates at FB for Christs sake, lol.

Cable wants gadget types, perfect scenario, Denard Robinson type, as odd as that sounds.

I love smelling the bottom of my electric toothbrush.

I'm not concerned in the least about the loyalty card. The Kam deal showed the FOs loyalty to players that perform and are deemed (by them) as absolutely necessary / irreplaceable. In fact, the FO likely knew they were getting rid of MRob and Kam may have benefitted from this as the result (loyalty factor).

I'm not saying Rob's release was the right move (How would I know?) but aside from the impact this may have on Lynch and our running game...I actually like the message it sends.

But I will miss MRob. No doubt.

The players are smart. They speak about how this team tries to recreate a college environment, yet the business side of the NFL has to co-exist. They may make sacrifices to keep a core together but they also saw how Harvin got paid. The choice to let MRob go was a tough one and the players will just do the next man up routine, but they have eyes as well. Cold reality still rules this league and it would be smart of them to listen to their agents when it comes time to negotiate with the team.

They are a commodity and glory is fleeting, unless you are a QB or HOF player.

Yah and a FB like MRob who could block like a sun of gun, catch like a TE, run short yardage and goal line with near 100% success, and be your emergency QB doesn't fit that description at all . . .

This is a bad move. Sometimes veteran cuts send the right message (TJ Houshmanzadeh), but this one does just the opposite. It says we don't value leadership, locker room camaraderie, self sacrifice or on the field contributions.

I'm pissed. As pissed as I've ever been at this team. This will be a case of "you don't know what you've got till its gone."

I love the guy but I am sorry, he was not worth $2.2 million. No FB is worth that.

The front office offered him a lower salary, he thought he was worth more so he refused. If he can't find a higher salary he might be back.

The worst part is the way they did it. Like nobody is going to notice, or it's just going to blow over? And NOTHING on Seahawks.com. Do they know how much the 12th man liked this guy?
