He produces worse results each game. NOT A GREAT SIGN.

He's getting 3 years regardless, but no he shouldn't get any more than that.

Be sure to give John 7-10 more while you're at it! I'd say by year 8 he'll have assembled a line that's just a little bit below average!

The growing pains sure are visible. This is a rookie HC and a rookie OC. I wasn’t expecting much and much I did not get.

However, the coaching staff is measured by their ability to reflect and adjust. So we will wait and we will see.

I would generally agree.

But if this season really goes down the shitter... say 6-11 or 5-12...

I mean, I'm probably giving him the Mora treatment if that happens. Honestly.

Lol. How people are talking about getting rid of him already is just amazing. The team he inherited was average with some areas being awful. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt and let him fleece the roster next season and rebuild. The Oline is one of the worst ever assembled and the defense has holes everywhere.

It's going to take some time. How did some not see this?

I saw it more than most did. I said he'd probably win 8. I'd only get rid of him if they absolutely fall apart down the stretch.

One-and-dones should be reserved for Mora types who lose their teams. Mac will have lost the team if we end up 6-11 or 5-12 in a nightmare scenario.

My point is I wouldn't put much stock in him losing the team when a lot of the players won't be here next season. Tyler and Big Cat were talking along those lines earler. The guys who don't fall in line will be gone. Simple.

As for 6-11, that's about what I expected. That falls in line as to what needed to be done.

I think a lot of folks took that 3-0 start as some sign of greatness. I also think most fans here were looking past the warts and moles on the roster as we moved into this season. "Rome was not built in a day". It took Pete a couple of years to get his team together and get a Superbowl win. And he had been a prior NFL Head Coach and Collegiate National Champion Head Coach. Give Mike Macdonald some time to get his guys. Not just his players, but his staff as well.

As a former Houston Texans' Fan, I spent too many years b*tching and moaning about poor coaching, poor players, piss poor front office, and all the "whoa is me, my team sucks!" crap. Twenty-three years and they are 5-7 in the playoffs. Can't get past the divisional round. Twenty-three years... and never sniffed a Superbowl.

The Seahawks took thirty-seven years to get their first Superbowl. This is only the eleventh year since the Hawks' last win; ten since their last visit. Things take time to gel. That offensive line is one of the worst that I've ever seen. And still Geno Smith is leading the league in passing yards and fifth in completions! All behind a line that can't stop anything or create a lane for Kenneth Walker III.

For my own sanity and blood pressure, I turn off the game when it gets terrible. I just breathe, relax, and find something else entertaining on Sundays.

Consistent championship-caliber coaches don't lose teams, though. That's more my point. If he loses a team year 1, I can't trust in that culture.

That Giants loss 3 weeks ago is what burns me up the most. They are playing uninspired and undisciplined football in Lumen field (their home field). Even the worst teams in football at least play better at home. Not these Seahawks. They have now lost 3 straight games at home. In only 2 of those games they were playing a team that is a playoff contender.

Who is really a consistent championship-caliber coach though? It sure wasn't Pete Carroll. Reid maybe? Shanahan?

You have to get to that point first and no coach ever alive or dead could do so with the roster the Seahawks have. Seattle has some pieces in place that need to stay. Those players are the only ones that matter. The others that don't buy in or can't execute the schemes can go.

Winning builds cultures. You can't win with this roster.

Home field advantage has been gone in Seattle for years now though. It wasn't that long ago that Seattle lost to the Giants with Colt McCoy as their QB.

If we're firing Carroll, it would have to be for a better coach.

If Carroll went 9-8 with this squad twice despite actively terrible OC/DC choices... I mean..

Mac's got a lot to live up to. Carroll made the playoffs with a roster that was just as talented, maybe slightly less so.

I'm not expecting a Super Bowl performance. I do need to see signs that something is actually being built, though. And, yes, to Soulfish's point - I am a fan who is not inside of the team. I cannot say for sure what's happening in there, so my statements are aimed toward "if people in the building determine that nothing is being built, then I would be in agreement with those people if they decided to move a different direction."

This team isn't lost. It's still trying to find it's identity. The shadow of PC, the shadow of LOB, whatever you want to call it... This team is getting a new identity and it's going to take a while to get that rolling. I bet the Hawks have some of that identity after the bye week and down the stretch.

I am not saying that the team is lost. Just to clarify.
