A typical day as a Niner fan View attachment 79467

I know it will come off as odd that I'm saying this while posting in a Seahawks forum....

...but really not. In fact, it feels like the other way around when I'm on my X feed.

Then again....it tracks my engagement and tries to get me to engage more so that's a big part of it, but so many on my timeline just wanna push the Seahawks winning at Levis narrative. Its like they desperately WANT it to upset me. It really doesn't anymore than New Orleans or Miami fans care about who wins the multitudes of SBs in their buildings. I say this in all honesty...it sucked and it bothered me for about 5 minutes, but that was it. I'm on to thinking about THIS season.

Seattle was really good last year, but regardless of the score in the last game they played....most of these games are played on the margins. What happens if that 2 point conversion isn't recovered vs the Rams? Does that change everything? Are the Rams holding the Lombardi at the end? What if Brock/Bosa/Warner/Kittle never get hurt?

I don't say this to take away from winning a ring. You guys deserved it and congratz....but it really doesn't occupy my time thinking about Seattle all the time. Every season is its own thing. So many assumption people make don't turn out even close to how people expect.

Can Seattle win another one? Of course...but like 8 different teams can win it next year.

I know the Niners will play Seattle twice next year. That's only 2 of 17 games. I think about Seattle exactly as much as I think about the Rams.

The shellacking in that last playoff game? Sure...that sucked, but to be fair I didn't even think they should be IN that game and I said so BEFORE the game. I didn't even think they'd beat Philly and that was largely because they were so short-handed.

Niners Seahawks just got out of hand. Young, ferocious defense against an Offense getting by on smoke and mirrors, issues in pass protection up the middle, no healthy WRs to speak of, and a defense that set a 49ers record for fewest sacks. Niners just kept going for it on 4th and failing giving Seattle short fields.

It was what it was, but what I think about these days is only that I can't wait till next year and hoping they can stay relatively healthy for once. I know it frustrates some that Niner fans always site injuries, but as tired as you are of hearing it, imagine how tired WE are of seeing it.

Cooper Kupp is not an important player at this point in his career. Mike Evans has at least 2 pro bowl seasons left in his body. He'll get close to 1,000 yards receiving.
😂. The 49ers have done exactly nothing to gain on the Seahawks. And adding evans, is just like when we added Rice

Sure dude. Sure. I'm sure 33 year old Mike Evans will be exactly the same as 42 year old Jerry Rice.

I'll concede it's a decent signing. $14 million per year is WR2 money, and that's probably what they'll get from Evans, WR2 production.

But age 33-34 is when wide receivers fall off the cliff. Because Evans' game is more than just speed, I think the 49ers will get one year of decent production out of Evans before he becomes a JAG.

Its effectively a 1 year and then we'll see deal...so I think thats kinda what they are expecting.

Also worth note...3 of the players they've had in on Top 30 visits are likely 1st round WRs. WR was a HUGE, HUGE problem last year.

When you are counting on Kendrick Bourne to deliver for you, you are in a bad spot.

Drafting a WRs is great. But the 9ers still have garbage safeties. An aging roster and a meh OL. Why sign older injury prone players? Shocked they didn’t sign Woolen, and Cobe.

John Lynch’s record of drafting wide receivers in the first round have been horrendous. I know Aiyuk got hurt but the rest haven’t lived up to the hype. Pearsall is decent but more of a third or fourth round receiver looking back at it

Yes, and to prove your point, here are the wide receivers drafted by John Lynch in the first three rounds: Ricky Pearsall (1st, 2024), Danny Gray (3rd, 2022), Brandon Aiyuk (1st, 2020), Deebo Samuel (2nd, 2019), Jalen Hurd (3rd, 2019), Dante Pettis (2nd, 2018).

What kind of moves do people expect the 49ers to be making? Their options are reload or rebuild, and GM's don't tear down 12 win teams the immediate off-season after. A SB win for them almost certainly looks like a NY Giants style run from the wildcard. To that end, they're looking to reload with guys that are at least good enough to get them to the playoffs and have some potential to dominate during a playoff run. Mike Evans on a pretty modest contract works for that.

Because young players in FA are always available for a reason. Older players are available BECAUSE they are old...and they are cheaper.

Niners will rebuild in the draft. These are stopgap measures.

RE Safety, I actually love Mustapha, but no question they need to address the other safety. Also notable that the secondary will likely look much better when they have a D-Line that records more than a franchise record low 20 sacks on the season.

RE O-Line, I can't really argue, but thats kinda the MO of the Shanahans. They don't take Oline high...almost ever, unless its a possible LT. They trust that ZBS and the ability to coach lower drafted guys to be players in their system.

He said first round which is only Pearsall and Aiyuk.

To your point tho....

Ricky Pearsall: Has been fantastic...when he's healthy and he rarely is.
Danny Gray: Total bust.
Brandon Aiyuk: Was great...till he went nuts.
Deebo: Great pick.
Jalen Hurd: This one is kinda sad. He was gonna be in that Deebo RB/WR mold and looked really good in his first preseason game. Then he got hurt (Back injury as rookie, torn ACL before start of second year) and then just disappeared. Never was the same and out of the league in a hurry. Huge, highly recruited college RB who left Tennessee to play WR at another school. This one always makes me wonder what would have happened had he not gotten hurt.
Dante Pettis: Still in the league, but a bust.

It's tough picking wide receivers. We've had our share of busts (D'Wayne Eskridge, 2nd round 2021). Elsewhere in the league, recently from the first round, there was John Ross (#9 overall), K'Neal Harry, Jalen Reagor (#21 overall 2020), Kadarius Toney (#20 overall 2021) and Henry Ruggs (#12 overall 2020).

It is....but Niners tend to only make mistakes at this position early if they try to get a guy whose best attribute is speed (Gray, Pettis). Its like they reach a bit there.

Yeah, and then you have 5th round picks like Tyreek Hill and Puka Nacua. If you hit it like that in the 5th round, you'll be living well.
