The receiving core (what will be left after Bourne and Jennings depart)is actually the youngest group on the team and a veteran presence will help

Contract isn't as bad as originally reported. It's actually $42.3 million/3 years, or $14 million per year. He can get up to $20 million with incentives. At $20 million per year, it was a head scratcher, but it makes more sense at $14 million. Still, you have to wonder what he has left in the tank at age 33.
