While he deserves some credit, let's not set our expectations too high. Don't forget, Atlanta is near the bottom of the league at pass rushing.
True, Atlanta doesn't put much pressure on the QB. And although the TV broadcast showed Jerrell making a great block on one run play, he generally didn't do that great in run blocking, either.

He ended up being graded the lowest of all linemen in both run blocking (51.7) and pass blocking (58.3). So let's slow our roll here.

This!

Atlanta doesn't put much pressure on the quarterback, yet they pressured Geno on a little over 50% of his dropbacks. Jerrell finished with an average Forsythe game (pre-Bosa) in terms of pressures given up. Props to the kid for stepping in and performing, but it's far to early to view him as a solution at RT.

That's your opinion, and that's fair. I think I'd rather have him out there than Stone Keith Richards Forsythe.

But he faces Judon who’s a decent experienced pro so it’s still promising.

I wonder if he moves inside to guard and Fant goes to right tackle? Either way I’m excited someone seemed to play well after the year it’s been lol.
Jerrell at barely 300lbs may not have the bulk to play inside? or I got it wrong?

Please allow me to put in a few good words for Stone. He had good games too, didn't he?

2023 Detroit, 71 snaps, 3 hurries, no penalties, PFF 70.4 overall and 75.1 pass blocking
2023 Arizona, 55 snaps, 1 hurry, no penalty, PFF 74.3 overall, and 73.9 pass blocking
2024 Miami, 64 snaps, 1 hurry, no penalty, PFF 73.1 overall, and 77 pass blocking

Of course Stone couldn't play at the above level consistently, he had a lot of bad games to go with a few good ones. As for Jerrell, I am happy for his first pro game, he did OK, But let's not crown him yet. After 60 snaps, Mike was 4 hurries, no penalty, PFF 50.9 overall, and 58.3 pass blocking.

Seems like we've seen enough from Stone since he's been here. Just my own opinion, but I'd like to see Jerrell get his shot until Lucas comes back. And really a huge IF.

Good stuff. It's also worth mentioning Stone is a better fit at LT than RT.

I thought he was bigger so I probably have it wrong. I thought Mike said he gives them versatility across the line too but I was driving and could’ve messed that up too lol.

Enough people I really trust have dismantled some PFF grades so admittedly it’s tough for me to trust them. Watching that game it just felt like Jerrell plays very well all things considered. Multiple games with Stone (some of it unfair bc of matchup) it just felt like him getting beat jumped off the page play after play. Not the scientific method for sure but it seemed like a massive improvement and at the very least it’s a positive moving forward and something the team can build on?

I think the consensus around here is in agreement. Hey, he's a rookie, so I'm not declaring him the next starter yet, but on the basis of one game he should be moving up the depth chart for sure. Stone had some problems, possibly because he faced some of the best DE's in the game. IAE, going forward, Jerrell gives me some hope for the future.
