Will the real Russell Wilson please stand up...

If there was any doubt about who and what Russ was, there shouldnt be now. Absent of a system that is essentially a 'non-system' that allows him to just make stuff up, he struggles to play the position well.
The irony here is that he's landed in a place where he may well be ushered out of the league, riding the pine behind a guy who just might 'Out- Russ', Russ, in that whenever Fields fails to make a read or execute the play, he creates on his own and sometimes in spectacular fashion. He's nowhere near what Russ was in his prime, but he looks to be better than Russ v 2024.
Yup, Russ gets sacked, while Fields escapes and runs for 17 yards and a first down. At least that's the trend I saw in the Stealers preseason highlights.

chrispy said,

"Supposedly, this is the best OL of his career. If Fields starts regular season, what scenario could be advertised where he'd be ok staying as #2? ...injury, mentor, team player...? ...or will he try to get a Brady announcer job...?"

As Russ can't read a defense, how the hell is he going to succeed as an announcer or a play-by-play guy. With all his cringy media interviews or post-game interviews I know I'm not the only one who's head would explode listening to him trying to analyze a play, let's just say he is not Tony Romo!!! Please for the love of God NO.....
Mr. Limited might do OK as an announcer, where he can see the field from above. Trying to be generous here.

I watched the Steelers/Bills game last night IMO Wilson looked like shit and aside for 1 nice side line pass and a few runs Fields wasn’t much better. With the talent the Steelers have at WR if they had a decent pocket QB their offense would be top 10. Gardner Minshew was available as a FA and signed with the Raiders for top backup money ($12.5 MM AAV)

From a site I've never heard of: sharpfootballanalysis.com (I wonder if internet traffic from Pittsburgh has ramped up on these sites today?)

Best Remaining Quarterback Free Agents, 2024:

  • Ryan Tannehill
  • Trevor Siemian
  • Blaine Gabbert
  • A.J. McCarron
  • Brian Hoyer
  • Kellen Mond

...just a public service announcement for any Steelers fans that drop by...

They said Zach Wilson may not make the Broncos. Would rather have him than PJ.

I think that guy is a Stealers fan. He posted this about the Stealers' starting-QB situation:

I think Fields will be the guy and that he will play well. What he cant do with his ability to read defense, he can compensate for to a degree with his athleticism.

Fields played a preseason half-game against Bills 3rd stringers and was underwhelming.
Starting him would likely result in a string of Ls.

Live and learn Pittsburgh...

Fields is a mellow version of Me3 and to think who he's being mentored by :ROFLMAO:
