And yet again, Wilson puts Suarez ahead of Naylor. And why in the world is Cal at 2 instead of 3 or 4? He's THE RBI guy on this team. Put him where he could get........wait for it........MORE RBI chances
I agree.

200

For some reason it just looks strange to me when a small guy like Cole Young hits a ball that far out of the ballpark. That ball was crushed.

So you get 4 runs in the top of the 7th to get within 3 and make a come back possible... and you leave Legumina in to make absolutely sure that's not gonna happen.

Nice.

Theyre under .500 on the road now so they are what they are: good home team, bad road team. Mentally weak on the road.

They're gassed. Gilbert with balls drifting over the plate. Hitters can't hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle. The talking head guys were talking. It's our 4th 3 city road trip, technically 4 now with the LLWS game. Joys of playing in Seattle, I guess.

Nice to see Raley back, though Canzone's injury is worrisome.

Flush it. How many seeing eye singles finding holes in the defense?

36 games left. Missed a chance to pick up a game on the 'Stros.

Go look at the home/away splits for our starting pitchers. Each and every one of them is far better at home than on the road, and it was the same last year.

I've said it before, and it's strongly supported by the numbers, T-Mobile park is a huge reason why our starting pitching is thought to be so good. Put this pitching staff in a different ballpark and it's a very different story.

*sigh*

I have to remember that these are not bad teams we're losing to. Not by a long shot.

But I stand by what I said earlier, we don't have the pitching to be a real contender this year. Not unless you can clone Woo.

Absolutely gassed. Look at that road trip and the miles the last week.

I can't wait till Anderson and Sloan make it up someday soon.
I'm tired of Lomart, I don't think he's hurt.. I just don't think
he's good outside of T-Mobile against good teams.
Kirby, is fine, he was due for a bad game, I think he'll be ok
going forward.
We have the pitching but we can't seem to hit and pitch well
at the same time.
We need a good fight (bench clearing) on the field -That's all I got.

You can say that about the entire starting rotation outside of B. Woo. Look at Castillo, giving up nearly 5 runs a game and they are hitting over .300 against him on the road.

Julio a stud on the road and a jag at home.

Only stands to reason we don't hit and pitch well at the same time. Pitchers can't pitch outside of T-Mobile and hitters can't hit there. I've really grown to hate the ballpark. Can't get any kind of well balanced team there.

A ballpark with a roof but people still get wet in the stands,
as one who went to games in the Kingdome, I'd hate this
ballpark too.. Marine layer, deeep outfield and batters eye blah!

Last 4 games besides the Woo start Ms starters have left so many strikes over the middle of the plate. They're changing speeds but I'm not seeing a lot of change ups. Kirby started to throw more knuckle curves but the game was already over at that point. Castillo couldn't get his sinker down...at all. Wow. Nobody is really throwing change ups. Just fast balls and sliders over the middle of the plate. Every RBI hit off Gilbert tonight was over the middle.

Can we just get a win.....at some point? And we're going up against another beast of a pitcher. 11-4 with 2.45 ERA.
Sigh........

And yes, I'm aware that they M's have done well, for some reason, against aces. But my confidence in this team is going way down. Yet again.

Lousy road trip so far, but I'm not panicking yet. Interesting thoughts about our pitching and our home park. I'll have to think about that some more, do a little stat diving. Yes, let's get a few wins to calm my nerves. We're only a game and a half behind the Stros, and winning this division should be our goal. It's doable. It would be great to see a better, more consistent mixture between our pitching and hitting. Anyway...
