That is what M's management always counts on. :D
I don’t think Jerry didn’t try to win I think he just screwed up and spent all his money in the wrong spot and so we’re stuck with this. I am gonna root for my guys. I still love the team and the game. Can’t blame the players for the crap management.

I've been rooting for these guys for 48 years and from 3 different states. It used to be a joy but now it is just an addiction. One that I am too weak to kick.

Jerry is inept. I think he wants to win but is clueless on how to win. But with that said, winning can bring expectations that some GM's might not want if they know they can't keep it up. How many GM's get fired after bringing teams to playoffs and then missing one or two? A lot more than GM's that don't make the playoffs but keep their teams relevant. There is a lot to be said about job security.

I will continue to follow as long as I walk the earth, but I already know I will experience more disappointments than pleasures. Life of a Mariners fan.

So he should stop watching?
As long as fans are satisfied with underachieving teams they put out. they have no reason to change. It is all about supply and demand. As long as people enjoy the supply and spend on it no matter what the product is, there is no reason to change the supply. Baseball itself doesn't help by having a welfare program for the losing teams like Miami. I don't expect people to stop going or watching on TV. It is a time killer we enjoy getting annoyed at for some unknown reason. I am just as guilty in the regard.

Pitching has sure changed
True, but I can't argue against saving something for the end of the season. There was a small risk, given the enduro the bullpen has been running, but it worked out. Kirby is coming off an arm strain injury, so I'm not against protecting him. It's early in the season to go all macho and tell him to gut it out if not absolutely necessary.

Wilson is a catcher, and he protects his pitchers.

With a good lead, I don't mind a guy being pulled. Just in general, not impressed with Wilson. It's gonna' take time.
