Well this loss was thoroughly demoralizing. The M's clearly need offensive upgrades NOW & not on Deadline Day. Could use a Major League quality reliever too..... Either handed.

A sad stat when trying to win games. Our worst average in any innings is extras. That is not how you win. The other stat that sticks out is they have hit into 5 DP's in 11 games playing extras. Sad.

At this point it looks like he would strike out if the pitcher just threw 90 mph fastballs down the middle of the plate. Looks like he badly needs a good long stint in AAA.

The "eye test" from simply watching the games has had me thinking they suck unusually worse in extra innings..... I was too lazy to research it, but now I know I was right.

Extra innings is about small ball. Get the runner over and then in. M's hitters have the hero approach. Swing for the fences one player at a time. So fundamentally bad baseball.
