Great job fixing problems from the past....

On the road in the heat.
First win in a road opener since 2006
Russell had 300 yds.
Good time management.
Controlled T.O.P. in the hot second half and wore 'em out.
Won the TO battle on the road.
Defense gave up 253 of total offense despite heat, early game, and injuries.

Overall, a good, tough win against a physical team on the road!

I'm still concerned with the stupid penalties, killed a couple drives today and held us to field goals in the red zone. Although this was an ugly game there were some positives to take away from it.

With Clemons, Avril, Irvin and Browner out.... on the road, in the heat...that was an amazing win.

Agreed.

I had this one chalked up as a loss when I saw the heat, inactives, and the fact is was 10am.

During the game, it just felt like one of those games the Hawks lose. It felt like a loss.

Held the Panthers to 7 points and won the game.

This team is good.

This game just proved even more that our defense is stupid good. We barely had a defensive line out there and still held them to 7 points, and 250 yards total offense.

The funniest thing too is that it seemed like they weren't even playing that well lol.

Early season games tend to be ugly affairs.

I'm just gonna enjoy the win while looking forward to next Sun night.

I agree, this game had loss written all over it. Think about the players we had on the sideline:
Cliff Avril, Percy Harvin, Brandon Browner, Chris Clemons, and Bruce Irvin, (I also think Rice was ailing out there today) Talented players at crucial positions. Now, add in a !0 a.m. start, road opener and a playing against a fierce front seven and it all adds up to a loss. Winning this game was stealing a victory. I love it.
