He played for the Redskins for a short bit after he left Seattle in 07Wait. Alexander played for 2 NFC teams?
Same with Jerry Rice.Yep. Always sad to see a guy go out with a quiet thud. But it happened. He was one hell of a player regardless.
Shoot, the Seahawks had Franco Harris. Talk about a sad sight. An all time great and he looked beyond washed.
Add Ricky Watters to that list except that Watters was a true contributor for three years (1998 - 2000), rushing for over 1200 yards each of those years while adding 1375 yards combined receiving.Same with Jerry Rice.
And Edgerin James
John Randle
Terrell Owens
Chad Eaton
Warren Moon
Jamal Adams
CJ Spiller
Alexander ran behind one of the top olines in historyAlexander has better numbers
Everybody loved Lynch because he was pounding, punishing, in your face Back, and fact is, If you hoped to move the pile/sticks He'd be your kind of Back....His Style of play however, is/was hard to sustain, and still remain healthy. The best running back in Seahawks history.
Shaun Alexander the Great
And once he got out in FRONT of that "O-Line" is where he did most of his damage to Defenses, and thus the "BETTER NUMBERS"Alexander ran behind one of the top olines in history
Why’s your buddy playing with Kevin Smith? He’s on a trivia team and asked me for help.
He suspected the answer but wasn’t sure, hence asking me.
Should be easy for most of us.
Put Alexander behind Lynch's oline and it's a different story. And once he got out in FRONT of that "O-Line" is where he did most of his damage to Defenses, and thus the "BETTER NUMBERS"
The POINT IS, the Shaun Alexander & Marshawn Lynch "Stories" are already in the History Books, so your What If's don't mean SQUAT.Put Alexander behind Lynch's oline and it's a different story.
Agreed, though it's close. I can understand why some folks might go with Marshawn here, but I can't understand why some people think it's crazy to think Shaun was better.Alexander > Lynch
I have to say that you might be right . All I was saying , is as good as #37 was , and he was a great player. I just think Marshawn Lynch is the best Seahawks running back. That's all manI'm finished. The narrative around here is to poopoo all over Shaun. It is what it is
Your obsession with caps lock doesn't help your argument, just looks like a pathetic keyboard warrior trying to yell. The POINT IS, the Shaun Alexander & Marshawn Lynch "Stories" are already in the History Books, so your What If's don't mean SQUAT.
Alexanders numbers DWARF every other Seahawks RB, Sad for the Lynch mob? yeah, Maybe, BUT IT'S STILL THE TRUTH.
Alexander was a 'Touchdown Machine' in the Red Zone, EVEN WHEN he Ran to the not so 'Stellar' RIGHT SIDE.
I vaguely remember being upset about signing Franco, because I believed at the time that we probably could have gotten Earl Campbell for a song. And I would MUCH rather have had Earl Campbell running for us than Franco Harris.Yep. Always sad to see a guy go out with a quiet thud. But it happened. He was one hell of a player regardless.
Shoot, the Seahawks had Franco Harris. Talk about a sad sight. An all time great and he looked beyond washed.
Funny, before Hutchinson he averaged 4.9 per carry. After Hutchinson, he fractured his foot at the end of game one. The "pious" one believed that he could play on it because "God would heal his foot." The boneheaded (I am being as kind and politically correct as I can here) decision did permanent damage. The fact that Holmgren allowed him to play on it, soured me to Holmgren a lot. Not quite Fade/Pete, but I was very critical of it. It essentially cost him his career and us, our best weapon. People always use the Hutchinson selfishness against SA and I find it interesting that it seems the vitriol heads towards the guy who stayed instead of Hutchitraitor who deserves every bit of vitriol, but for some reason people blame Ruskell for him not wanting to be here.Your obsession with caps lock doesn't help your argument, just looks like a pathetic keyboard warrior trying to yell.
Never said Alexander was bad, just saying his stats were heavily influenced by one of the best olines in NFL history. Do yourself a favor and look at his stats when Hutchinson left. Went from 5.1 yards/carry to 3.6 in 2006, and 3.5 in 2007. He doesn't get 5 yds/carry behind an average oline no matter how much of his jock you shove in your face.
