How the hell does the coaching staff decide who to play where at LB going forward ? Someone mentioned that our LB play actually looks better with Wagner out.
I think it's due to there not being a big dropoff with Wright being in the middle, as it minimizes his weaknesses being in the middle.
We're also seeing Smith emerge and playing well, and we're also seeing Irvin making an immediate impact with limited experience.
I only think Irvin will improve going forward. He has the talent to be the most elite edge rusher we have, and his physical skill set lends itself well to him playing in space. From what I've seen, he's doing a great job sifting through the OL wash and filling gaps in the run game. I saw him in coverage on a RB all the way to the end zone.
So what do we do when Wagner gets healthy ? No way in hell do I suggest benching Wright. No way in hell do I suggest benching Wagner.
