I've seen ... up the middle against an 8 (maybe 7 sometimes) man front for a no gainer, a "couple" yards or even a LOSS!!
WAY WAY too many times

It's getting old, and growing MOLD!


Lynch is an incredible back, but his utilization is a joke without a punch-line!
Biggest waste of talent we have. I hope they figure that out ... and fast. He should be gaining 100+ypg religiously.

Lynch needs to be coached better, and plays need to enhance his style.

They ran a sweep and a toss last game and they were both money, I was yak yak yaking, as my wife calls it, about how they never run Lynch on a toss a sweep or a pitch, and then they did it, :0190l: and she is very ungrateful they did too. I hate the Whiners, but I believe that if they had Lynch, he'd rush for 100+ yards EVERY game.. wish we'd mimic some of their power running formations. I think Lynch would excel in that type of running scheme imo..

Lynch isn't the problem. Getting hit by 3 guys before the line of scrimmage has nothing to do with the way he runs. Honestly, the last couple of years the reason he has been so consistent is because he stays on his feet after being hit at the line and the O line pushes him forward. The O line needs to block and the OC needs to come up with plays that go after the defenses weakness. Enough with the " were so good at running where going to just keep doing the same thing until the D gets tired of Lynch running in to them". The offense isn't good and hasn't been for a month. It's getting worse as the Hawks face stout defenses. BTW, those same defenses the Hawks struggle against are the same that will be coming to Seattle over the next month.

The coaches are proving ultra slow to react to and accept the fact that their supposed "identity" running plays are no longer working. They think that if they just slam it enough times it will eventually gain 8 yards even after 4 straight 2 yard or less grinders. The whole "defenses are focused on stopping the run" isn't carrying much weight anymore. The seahawks just aren't good in the run game right now, coaches, blockers and backs included.

I love Lynch as much as anyone but I dont think he has been running as efficiently as he usually does. He looks a little off to me. The line is at fault as well. I honestly think we should be running Michael more. Lynch should get the majority but I cant figure out why Michael doesnt get a few carries every game. He is too talented to keep off the field. Its not just homerism either...people around the league are baffled by our lack of use with him. We need a talent infusion and he would add an explosive element to our offense. Hammer with lynch and sprinkle in some Michael. Im tired of seeing Turbin go down so easily and look so pedestrian. Give Michael a chance.

I agree Michael should get a chance. We need another 'explosive' element on our offense and since Harvin is not coming back they should let Michael have a shot.

You can't win the Super Bowl by being timid, it's time to unleash Michael.

The line obviously hasn't been great this year but Marshawn is off his game too. On one of the runs down by the goaline I just remember thinking he should have got in the endzone. 7 carries for 11 yards in the second half on sunday, something has got to change. Its important that were able to run the ball this week, we don't want to many 3rd and longs agaisnt the rams and that pass rush. I would bet the Cards got there blueprint from watching film of our first game with rams, Bevell better have his shit together this week.

We need a more explosive outside runner like CM to open up some of those inside running lanes. Even if the defense knows it's coming. It messes with the timing of the defense just enough to break runs up the middle.

It also wears down big defensive linemen who have to move down the line of scrimmage.

The zone reads and QB keepers which made us nearly unstoppable last year have been all but shelved this year in an apparent bid to protect what we realize is our franchise QB. If we don't start taking this risk though, it could be the end of our season.

But look at the Niners game last night. Yeah, I know the Falcons are hot garbage, but they were dictating the game in the first half last night. Kaepernick truly sucks and can't make it through his reads without screwing up, but they started cutting him loose to run in the second half, and having that third 'nuclear' option started giving Atlanta fits.

Right now teams know we want to run it, we have an average O-line, and all they have to do is sell out against the run and try not to give Wilson enough time to make good deep throws. If they have a spy or just an iota of assignment discipline, our run-run-pass scheme will not work. HAVE to cut Wilson loose, and soon.

I like the comment about utilizing Lynch in more power formations like the 49ers. They do a lot of traps utilizing the full back and tight end blocking.

With that said, these losses are going to force Carroll to react. He was up at 4:30 AM with Russell Wilson yesterday looking at film. When the season is on the line, Carroll steps it up. That's been his story throughout his career at SC. He's a bright coach and a winner. Look for the Seahawks to turn things around this Sunday.
