OMG, Russ managed his stats and grading in such an able manner, again. Russ is 141.7 RTG, with 2 TDs/0 INT, and ran for a 1 TD. The donkey sure got their $$$$ worth, and Russ can sniff the glory of MVP already.

A hero ball throw would be the icing at this stage, John63 already busy blaming the defense, the OL, and other offense skill players already.
Seeing the end of that game on Red Zone, RW's receivers are certainly not doing him any favors. He had that 4th down converted but the ball was dropped. I don't know that it would have mattered in the long run, but we've certainly seen RW do more with less.... 9 or 10 years ago, at least.

Boone should have caught that, but Russ didn't put it in a great spot, especially considering he was throwing to a RB. Boone had to kind of stop and reach back.

This is a textbook example how the Broncos defense did a good job of slowing down the Raiders in the third quarter. But the Raiders defense did a better job of forcing three and outs that flipped field position for a few field goals. All the Raiders offense did was convert some downs into field goal range.

And that is the difference in the game.

Too many three and outs cause field position to be flipped which worked against Denver. As good as Denver's defense is that is hard to overcome. Also, Wilson had a good game statistically and made some key throws and runs to move the chains in the fourth. The problem is the rest of his team let him down. Football is a team game.

What I saw was Wilson looked good as ever throwing rainbow passes downfield with pin point accuracy. But the three and outs and too many punts in the third blunted any chance the Broncos could take a lead heading into the fourth.

Wilson almost willed his team back to a chance to win the game. The problem is that type of heroics is hard to pull off one too many times. Those heroics probably wouldn't be necessary had the Broncos avoided 1 or 2 three and outs in the third and actually flipped the field position in their favor as the Raiders offense was stymied by a Broncos defense in most of the third quarter.

Also, Wilson taking sacks in third down situations was a contributing factor that stopped drives and forced punts from three and outs. Granted Denver's OL is not that good but Wilson as a vet should avoid taking sacks in third and short situations.

The exact issue our team had last year. Russ had his best game all year, which put him at approximately one of his better games with us last year, and he was still not great.

His team failed him with the drops but the fact is: He's not throwing very good balls for most of his passes. He's throwing too hard on short routes, he's throwing behind on crossing routes, etc.

Denver is a bad offense this year. They are spookily similar in their badness to our offense last year. Not efficient. Three and outs galore. Points scored on miracle plays that are coming fewer and farther in between.

RW flat out missed his last 3 throws. Really poor placement and he was throwing like he was afraid of being hit.
Happens when you get sacked 2-3 times

More like we had WRs that knew how to play RUssBALL. Angry sure made Russ look like a super star.
