I kind of screwed up, I normally do this in august on the month of his death, but we got busy and I forgot. Its been kind of quiet this week so thought I would do it now.

Cheinhill was one of the original group that supported Seahawks.net from the very first even before 1998. Picked his username or handle from an area near Tacoma. He later used a different name that is mentioned in Kidhawk's avatar.

Kidhawk and I both salute Tom Fredrickson, he in his avatar me in my sig-pic. He was a great guy, and a great .net and Seahawks promoter. My wife and I were planning on visiting him on our vacation but the wife got sick so we turned east at Biggs Junction rather than west. On arriving home we found out he had passed away the day before.

Lets hope the Seahawks can finally win a SuperB owl this year for Tom and we all hope he has the best seat in the house. We still miss you Tom.....

Rest in peace Tom, we still miss you. And I'm sure you were in heaven long before the devil got wind of it.

He was such a huge fan, but as much of a fan as he was, he was even a better person....I can't wait until the day we hoist the Lombardi in the air. My first Post will be for Tom.

One of the true class acts. Never once post padded, a man of few words but boy did he ever make them count. Tom has been, is and always will be missed terribly. For those of you who didn't have the pleasure of being around when he was a member, you missed out.

Even though Cheinhill and I never met personally, I always saw him as a good friend simply through his posts on .NET, he is definitely missed—but never forgotten. R.I.P. Tom

Moving this back up so the more long term fans will see it today.

This long term member deserves it.

I remember him, he seemed like a good guy for sure. I remember reading his posts for a while and I started to understand that he was cool and sensible, seemed pretty well spoken, at least that what I thought.

God Bless you Tom!

Les, what year did he pass? It must have been right around the time I began frequenting things around here or soon thereafter. RIP Tom.

No it was after that. he went by IBC Hawk for a couple of years at the end. I'm pretty sure it was after you and I met at Cheney.

I remember it was the year we went to Florence, Or. for a long week and then up to Crater Lake and were going to stop and see him on the way home but the wife got sick so we came home instead.

Sorry I can't be more informative. Maybe David will remember.

It was his ability to rise above the frey that I always apprecieated and admired most. The board could be blowing up with rancour, spitefulness and divisiveness yet he could bring a calm to the discussions without ever seeming to even try. Class Act is an understatement.

I joined the original board in 99 when Holmgren took over. Aros was Site Owner at that time.

I was always impressed with Tom being Tom, which is to say steady as a rock and unfazed by any amount of noise on the board. I don't recall Tom ever having an angry outburst, cynical response or anything even remotely passive-aggressive. Very unique and refreshing considering how some of the threads we had on the original board became so out of hand.

I suppose the only thing he ever posted that might be considered remotely negative or selfish -he posted this more than once- was that he hoped the Seahawks made it to the Super Bowl while he was still alive. Unfortunately, he fell short of that mark by a couple of seasons. ):

I also started using the same avatar Kidhawk has (made?) when Tom passed. I lost track of the avatar when we switched boards, and stole it back from him more than once. I will keep displaying this until we win the big show. When we reach that milestone, I'll probably remove the avatar and raise a glass (or two) to Tom Frederickson.

Rest in peace, Tom. Go Hawks !!!

I remember a kind and always inclusive guy. I spent a while lurking back then and Cheinhill encouraged newbies to post and enjoy the board. He was just a great guy and a person from the board you'd want to know better. His wise incisive posts frequently disarmed the argumentative souls.

I know he's looking down and is excited by what he sees from this team. RIP Cheinhill.

Sorry Les, although I remember things that happen, I am horrible at remembering years. Heck, I have to think twice whenever I fill out my age

Yes, he always wanted a superbowl victory before he died, and although my mind tells me that he missed that mark, in my heart, I feel a little piece of him is here with us, because several of us carry that avatar and/or have him in our signature. He will always be remembered here, and our first hoisting of the Lombardi is for Tom.

As for the Avatar, Todd (Aros) actually made that for people originally to rembmer Tom, and I am forever grateful to him for that (not to mention about a thousand other things)
