Let’s Talk About The Uniforms

Nike designing this atrocious Oregon Ducks Seahawks jersey and you telling UW folks to get over it, then going on about your fandom of the Dawgs is the most hilarious take I’ve seen here and doesn’t pass the sniff test.

You do you though.

You show me proof that our rivalry jerseys were ever designed to look like or resemble a Ducks uniform and I’ll eat the crow.

I never claimed to be a fan, or have a “fandom” of the Huskies.
I said that I have pulled for them for over 50 years, and I have. I’ll continue to do so as well as root against most of their opponents.

I’m not the one that laid down the fan card here, that was clearly you.

Bottom line is, our rivalry jerseys were made by Nike, designed by whoever.
The fact remains they all have a measure of similarities with any of the other modern Nike creations.

For you it’s unfortunate that you can’t look past whatever similarities you see, hopefully you understand that it’s not only the ducks that wear or have worn uniforms that have similarities but similarities is all it is.
Imagine if they had to please everyone.

This whole anti duck obsession regarding uniforms is ridiculous. The Ducks have a lotta uniforms and none of them are wolf grey and irridecent green. But hey, we are both in the playoffs. So maybe this combo works

For my personal taste I like: blue with green trim, wolf Grey and the full neon greens.
Maybe irridescent blue would have been more Seahawky.

I’ve never denied similarity. In fact I stated clearly that it’s almost impossible to come up with a design that would not be similar to something else.

In the post you originally responded to I stated that “duck haters” should get past it.
That’s my opinion because I’d like every Seahawk fan to have measure of enjoyment for the uniform.
It was after all an incredible and memorable win.

My issue here is, your remark about import fans. The suggestion that somehow where a person lives affects anything fan related is ludicrous at best.

Like the unis, don’t like the unis my guess is NOBODY cares, I certainly don’t.

Then you continued on with some holier than thou crap about being a Dawg fan etc which clearly isn’t the case. I’m not really sure who you thought your gaslighting was fooling but it certainly isn’t me. There’s plenty of fans that take great pride in UW and these uniforms are a BS move by Nike. Phil should try winning something before slapping that team’s likeness on a franchise that has, as a rival of the same city that has won something in college ball as well.

That’s my take, and you’re welcome to disagree, but telling people to get past that is laughable. Especially if you’re this Husky fan as you said. If you were, you would loath the Ducks more than the Rams or the 9ers and seeing your team dressed up like Ducks would be infuriating.

My wife is sitting next to me saying that helmet is beautiful. And I actually agreed. Loved that it looked blue and green at the same time. Me knowing that she knows I my authentic helmets sitting atop my desk in my office, I say to her now that would be a great Christmas present.

She responds….Christmas is a week away.

The helmet is awesome. I love the throwback unis. I have an authentic Largent 80 that’s my go to.

Looks like everyone agrees about the helmet. The jerseys seem to be a sore subject if anyone dislikes them LOL. No one should get bthurt on the interwebs.

Absolutely loved them as an alternate, 1 game a year uni… I’m still waiting for the Pro Shop to allow custom versions of this jersey to get one
