Less pumped this week than last?

To me, this feels a bit (a tiny bit) like the 1980 USA Hockey team.

Remember that the celebrated game against the Soviets was not the final match, but the semifinal one! After such an emotional victory against the Evil Empire, the final match against Finland (a very good team, but not on the USSR's level) seemed a bit of a letdown.

That's how this entire week has felt to me.

I shall wait til after the 2-hand touch bowl to start getting ramped up. Or not. As has been said, it is a relax week to get the bearings greased, refrigerator refilled, and all other things preparing for the game done. Thought about going out of town for the game and see what is out there....but I think my cat wants me to stay home and be a good boy here. Cats do rule the world of course.

It kind of reminds me of the NBA western conference in the early 2000's... The finals were won in the WC finals / semifinals between the Lakers, Portland, Sacramento, Utah etc... Those teams went through hell in the playoffs leading to the finals, and always crushed the Eastern conference opponent.
