Given the recent resurgence of our defense and the handful of threads / posts referencing the LOB lately, I thought it would be cool to look back on some of the plsyers that brought the boom over the years.

Found this vid that is a pretty solid way ro spend about 30 minutes of your life.

Best hits by Seahawks from 76 to 2015.

I honestly dont know how there werent more significant injuries in the 80s and 90s, prior to safety measure bein inacted to protect player health.

Some of those hits were so violent - BamBam level violent.

One of the biggest IMO was the hit that knocked Torry Holt out. Just nasty.

Completely different game now.

Have you seen the pads they used?, less astroturf in the way back days, when astroturf was used knee injuries went way up, the use of field turf has helped but nothing beats good old fashion grass. Players had much more contact in training camp and pre season also and I think the term football tough has merit. Also rules permitted more contact so I think overall speed on plays was less, players were not as big and fast so to speak as well. Add it all together along with heart and desire to play the game thru injuries be it owners and or player the little nicks and bumps hell even concussions were not really reported as injuries as well, just part of the game. Lott had the tip of his pinky cut off during a game so he could keep playing. Tell me guys that would do that today.

I always go back and forth…was it Marshawn…ET…Wagz….Sherm…was it Angry Doug….

But, I know the answer. There’s no more internal debate. Bam Bam Kam was my favorite Seahawk of the LOB era.

He brought the Boom to the Legion.

P.S. that was a bullshit flag on the Davis hit. Yes, it snatched Davis’ soul. But, it was legal/legit.

Not sure how true this is but, word has it that you can still see an outline of Davis’ corpse in that exact spot on the field.
