-- If there is any credence to the Lawrence chat, doubt it, but what would it take?

He makes an astronomical amount of money for being as average as he has been. The talent is undeniable but he has not taken the next step to be in the tier he was expected to be. There'd have to be some sort of financial re-structure or money eaten by Jags to do this. I'd imagine they'll want a first and more.

He makes way too much money, plus Liam Coen went there specifically to work with Lawrence. Not happening at all.

Lawrence is definitely a step up from Geno

I'd laugh out loud. He's the most overpriced quarterback in football and a chronic underachiever.

I wouldn't want him on that contract for free, much less giving up capital to trade for him.

His arm is below Darnold level. Not sure why he was hyped so much. I'd prefer Darnold in free agency over Lawrence and his price tag any day of the week.

People call this QB class underwhelming but are willing to trade 2 firsts to move up for Ward but not a 1st and 2nd for Lawrence??

Yes, what has Lawrence done that merits his contract and that kind of draft capital?
He has been very very average at best and his arm is nowhere near elite either.

I would love Lawrence in Seattle and think circumstance factors in more than people realize. He could easily look much better in Seattle
He could, but he's the t-2nd highest paid QB in football and has not even approached that on the field. This isn't like a middling Geno contract - this is a legitimately massive franchise altering contract that is the same average yearly value that Josh Allen JUST signed.

I can't take something like that on while also paying big draft capital because he might eventually play like a top 12 QB.

For a 7 we could just trade for Zach Wilson. Let him, Howell and a rookie battle it out. And for the hate this will get, pop in his pre season tape with just one month under Payton. He was solid

Who’s willing to move up to get Cam Ward??

Cause, it definitely isn’t me!

I still believe Seattle needs to wait until next year or even 2027 to draft a QB.

Too many current trench issues!

Lawrence isn't paid anywhere near the $55M per year that people think he's being paid. That said I still wouldn't want to trade for him.

Who said this? I've not known anyway about trading the farm to move up to get Ward.

Ward isn't special, he was a projected 5th Rounder last year had a fairly average year and any other year Ward's ceiling would be mid second round but because QB is overvalued and QB desperate teams will shoot their shot. Ward, Sanders, Dart are all solid 2-3 Round choices but all are pricey at 1st.

Lawrence meanwhile peaked in high school and has not shown anything in time in the league that would indicate he's worth a 1st.
