And to amplify, everyone else that goes on IR is done for the season... you get one special slot that is "IR with designation to return" i.e. you can come back.

The rules are actually a bit complicated. He can practice after six weeks, I think, but must be activated within nine weeks... so for Lane, I believe he practiced all last week and possibly could have been activated for Oakland but he must be activated for the Giants game -- or he's gone for the year. There's basically a narrow window where he can come back because of the "designated to return" language.

Nope, we definitely lose some physicality, but Jeron's just as much of a ball hawk. Always though he looked like starter material in his limited reps, and always looks great in preseason. Knows the system better than Shead so I expect us to improve from last week in that respect.
