How sad. It's just a game.
A game I care about, but geez, get over it Packer fans.
I hate how the media always brings it up, and will Sunday.
Maybe a plea to the network to just LET IT GO already.

Didnt he defend his call immediately after? I'm sure if it was another lesser team, the outrage would have been minimal... But because it's the mighty Packers, America was up in arms about it and still bring it up

He can thank ESPN for it. They were the only entity making a GIGANTIC deal about it from the moment it happened. Others picked up the torch to a lesser extent quickly thereafter, but for a correct call, it sure has caused a lot of pain for the guy. Packers fans and most NFL fans in general that blindly believe what they hear should feel ashamed of themselves.

I may be the only person in Seattle who hasn't seen that page yet, but that's the first page that actually convinced me it was a touchdown.

Not that I cared. I never forgot the 'PI' on Kam that let the Packers take the lead in the first place. A terribly-officiated game both ways.

That kind of surprises me, Jkit - I've linked it a number of times on this forum, including in at least two different threads within a week or two of that game. Guess you just happened to miss it.

It really was the correct call based on the rules. Packers fans will never admit it thanks largely to ESPN and unlucky live camera angles at the time it happened, but oh well. I feel sorry that the dude's life has been significantly negatively impacted by this. :(

I'll be honest, I avoided 'Fail Mary' conversations because I tired of it pretty quickly. Once it was clear that the terrible PI call that led directly to GB's touchdown was going to be ignored, I tuned the whole thing out. Probably missed it in that time.

I feel really bad for Lance Easley. Even if the call was unequivocally wrong, this is a perfect example of how overblown this sport gets at times.

I also have never heard anyone speak of a late hit on RUSS after he threw the ball

A play at the begining of the regular season against a team not even in your division and Packer Fans think its the worst call in the history of all sports. I love how nobody wants to bring up the terrible call on one our DBs on a third down that extended their drive resulting in a TD.

As a Vikings fan as well GB can SUCK IT. IDK how many Bad calls I have seen against the Vikings when they play the Packers its  worthy

Personally, I never agreed with the call, but I would like to see it just go away once for all. I don't want to hear about it Sunday at all. This upcoming game should be about two great teams playing for the right to go to the Superbowl. The fail mary means nothing to this game. I do think more Packers fans are over it, but it takes time. When you feel wronged it's hard to forget, and I would expect that some people will be upset still for a very long time about it. I do think the way Mike Mccarthy handled the situation was really good. He actually called Easley and according to Easley “He wanted me to know he thought that what I did, controversial and maybe he didn’t agree with it, that I handled it with class.” Unfortunately, some of my Packer brethren weren't so forgiving. Not all Packers fan handled it right, but the media is the one really keeping it alive now. Many of us Packer fans are just as sick of hearing about it as you guys are. Hope people leave Easley alone. I also think it's a shame the media is revealing all this at this time, because this will just bring the fail mary back into focus for Sunday's game.

I hope we rape the Packers and then send Easley a basket of goodies with the message "that one's for you Lance".

I'm pretty sure the main reason for the outrage was the fact that they weren't the permanent officials. Had it been the same call with the permanent officials, it would have been far more muted. But most of the sports media backed the striking officials, and it was just too easy to pile on. Nobody was even the least bit interested in finding out if the call had any merit.

Doesn't fit the media narrative and also the Seahawks are not a 'legacy franchise'.

We know. Bring up SB XL to most Seahawks fans, and you'll get a similar seething reaction.

There is a difference between BEING wronged (SB XL) and the media beating it into you, convincing you that you were.

No, it's just different laundry. The Packers WERE wronged in that game, but not because of the simultaneous catch thing. Golden Tate committed OPI on that play, and everyone missed it.

Every time there is a controversy with officials, I guarantee you that each side can present compelling arguments about why they were right. It's just a matter of which colors you fly.

The real difference in the GB/SEA game and SB XL is that the SB was the biggest game of the year while the GB/SEA game was just a Week 3 deal.
