This is the guy I hope we get in the 2nd. Still raw but has a tremendous upside and great bloodlines (Howie Long is his father). Stick him at RT and have him fight it out with Breno for the starting job. He seems like the type of player Pete and Co. would want on the roster due to his athleticism but the question is, will he still be there when we pick?

Is he nasty? Does he have a mean streak? Will he take less money to play in the NFL?

Is he quick enough to shut down his brother b/c he is the best LDE in the division and ate Breno's lunch all day last time they played the Rams?

Howie and Chris have both said that Kyle is the best athlete in the family. Originally went to Florida State as a baseball player. Then ended up at junior college where he focused on football. Played on the same o'line in college as Menelik Watson, who also is going to be a 1st or 2nd round pick at tackle. They must have just mauled JC d'lines.

He's capable of mauling people and getting rough if thats what you mean. He finishes blocks and moves down the field looking for secondary blocks. I dont think he ever had any personal fouls for being overly rough.

He's definatly not gentle, like Kenjon.

"Like Kenjon", you a-hole!

I don't mean personal fouls, just a dude who likes to get 2nd level more than his next breath. Less Holmgren, more Cable in other words.

I really like Breno because of the nasty streak. A lot. IMO, ill trade a little skill for attitude on the right side. Obviously Long's an athletic freak, but, is he a "snot bubble" type? Nasty travels, well.

As a pass rusher, yes. But Breno has been taking him to school in the running game for a couple years now. Long is extremely one dimensional in selling out vs the pass and has terrible metrics as a run defender. Campbell,J Smith and Clemons are all more complete players.

I have some worries with Kyle Long's future at tackle while also seeing some holes in his game at guard. I wouldn't draft him because I think he'll be a guard in the NFL and for Seattle that's basically a wasted pick early. That said, he DOES fit Cable's criteria very well and I'd be lying if I said he didn't have high upside. Likable person too. Would not be shocked if he ends up in Seattle, I just wouldn't take that chance, personally.

you can never have enough o-lineman but if the FO doesn't view him as a Tackle i think they'll pass on Long. With Swezzy, Moffitt, Carp and P Mac at gaurd, were set up pretty good at the moment.

Wouldn't you know it- he's left handed. He's already got a built in excuse if he struggles at RT. :)

Kyle Long in the 3rd would be awesome. I Seattle trades back, it would make sense. Long, barring a Sweezy type acension, would be deactivated most weeks, if not all, in 2013.

I think some of us need to remember the McQ can play a mean left tackle. Jeanpierre is a fantastic G/C backup. Seattle needs a cheap, mid-round tackle to grow. A "Cable guy". 2nd seems awfully high.

Also, we need to consider Seattle's position on Rishaw Johnson. Did he progress? What is his ceiling? Also, Mike Person was a hot commodity in UDFA, and once we got him, we kept in on the roster.

I am now less convinced that we will draft ANY offensive lineman in 2013 prior to round 6. UDFA sounds more plausible.

I have had a lot of wine. So please be patient :)
