When Warner talks, he sounds like someone who had three times as many concussions as he did. Nothing he said in this segment is wrong though, or should even be considered all that controversial. Nearly all the talk about the team's ceiling with Geno is based on hypotheticals of what can be improved around him. All we can do is try to make those improvements and then wait and see if it's enough. The situation will never be perfect for Geno, so the question will be if he can be good to elevate the team above them when they inevitably arrive.
Bingo. Good qb's are able to win when things aren't perfect, and no team ever is. Geno has never been able to do that consistently, and again, it defies basic logic to think this is the year he suddenly becomes something he's never been. I just don't understand the blind loyalty to mediocrity and refusing to judge him by his record. Every other player is subject to that, so why not Geno?

Elite QBs elevate the play of those around them. Who's play has been elevated because of Geno? He's a really good QB. But that's all he is. He isn't elite in any way.
That’s such a good point. Whose play has been elevated by Geno? That’s a quality in a quarterback that makes them great and I’m still trying to think of a player who is more than he shoulda been cause of geno.
DK elsewhere people probably think would be better. JSN makes geno better. Our running backs are way better than they’ve shown. Our tight ends don’t seem to be any better cause of Geno. Our line? I don’t think he helps our line. Geno definitely doesn’t have that quality..

I love catching up on all these threads on a Friday night…all these clever and interesting takes are so fun to read! And the innovative nicknames like GeNO and GeMaybe, and GeWiilikers are so well thought out!

So impressive and fun! Amazing stuff! What an awesome group we have here!!!
Your sarcasm is hard to pick up on

Even the elite arent elite when they dont have reliable protection (ask Patty Mahomes and Jared Goff), to say nothing for what competent playcalling and coaching can do (ask Sam Darnold... and Jared Goff).

But sure, keep on beating the dead horse, defining Geno by what he's done with a turnstile of coordinators, no run game, and no protection.

Its funny how when Kurt blasted Russ for not being able to do basic NFL QB stuff and saying squarely that Seattle would never win anything meaningful again until Russ played better (ie - Russ was the limiting factor), he was labeled being lazy and 'hating'. Now, his words are gospel...

Ha.
always thought he was a dipshit, so I'm not going to give that guys opinion more credence because it fits my narrative. **** that guy

Geno tied for 13th in the league for time in the pocket before pressure

https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-qb.php Sort by PKT Time.

You know what is worse? 3 of those players in front of him only played ONE game and one played THREE games and one played FOUR.

So, legitimately, HE WAS TIED FOR HAVING THE EIGHTH MOST TIME IN THE POCKET BEFORE PRESSURE.

So MORE time than Mahomes, Burrow, Goff, Mayfield, Tua and tied with a ton others.

So, the "he doesn't have enough time" is total and complete bullshit.

He'll get Kubiak fired at the end of next year if they stick with Geno.

Just to be clear here: Pocket Time does not measure time-in-the-pocket-before-pressure.

Pocket Time is average time in the pocket before either pressure collapses the pocket or the ball is thrown. And since even the most beleaguered offensive line still prevents pressure on 60% or more snaps (and the best ones up to 75% or more), average time to throw has much more of a bearing on Pocket Time then how fast your line gives up pressure.

Further, because Pocket Time is measuring two such wildly different things (obviously, pocket collapsing and getting a throw off from a clean pocket are not at all the same), it creates a weird average that becomes very difficult to parse any useful information from.

You notice how Geno is tied for 13th with 26 other guys? There are 11 guys tied for 3rd? There is another 15 guys tied for 40th? And they all have almost the exact same time intervals? That's because this stat is only useful for a broad interpretation of how fast pass plays either convert or breakdown, and without further information... you can't actually tell which is which from this number alone.

The NFL actually does track (since 2018, I believe) average time-to-pressure as one of their Next Gen Stats, but as far as I know that stat is only available on pro.nfl.com, which requires a subscription to NFL+. (There is a free Next Gen Stats NFL site at nextgenstats.nfl.com, but Time-To-Pressure doesn't seem to be available there).

For those wondering, per Next Gen Stats, the Seahawks had the 4th worst time-to-pressure rate in the NFL and were giving up pressure at the 7th highest rate. So, our line was--in fact--getting beat consistently and they were getting beat quickly.

I just find it funny that when Warner was out there criticizing Wilson he was referred to as the HOFer who's opinion meant something. He's questioning Geno now and all of a sudden he's a windbag.

Better prepare yourself now for the Seahawks to be looking for another offensive coordinator then.

Not only are they sticking with Geno but Kubiak will not be fired after next year.
