I would agree with Kurt, but also, you have to factor in the o-line issues we have had so far.

I love Angry Doug Baldwin! He's like the Joe Pesci of this team; he's little, but full of piss n vinegar and will stab you in the neck with a pen!

.......okay, maybe not that last part.

Is Kurt wrong in his analysis?

I loved hearing Doug Baldwin get p o'd about this. Saying "I don't know what the hell they are talking about"
good stuff
That could be really bad--if he doesn't even know what they're talking about.

He knows, he's just Doug being Doug.

And if he doesn't, just show his these passing stats, #24 in the league.

It can be frustrating when you watch QBs for other teams throw to wide open receivers time after time and you never see these plays for Wilson.

If Lynch was more open last Sunday, he would have to be in a different county.
He was the checkdown outlet rec on that play. He was so open because of the nut-to-butt coverage on the "recievers" downfield. You see, teams will pay if they seek to exploit our recievers' pathetic seperation. Russell knows how to use any advantage.

We're #31 in passing attempts and #2 in rushing attempts. Of course we're going to be near the bottom in passing yardage. And that's exactly how he'd respond. Rightfully so.

Doug's catch rate is currently 75% w/ zero drops (#3 in the NFL).

I don't think he's "wrong", but I think he may be missing the context. Pehawk brought up that Bevell's schemes really seem to emphasize the vertical game...a LOT, and it isn't a wonder that opposing defensive coordinators will prepare for that. And, as another person pointed out, Pete and Bevell seem happy with this since it gives Russell so much room to run, which drives D's crazy. So long as an offense is going to give him this much room, I agree that our coaches will keep doing what they're doing.

It creates a lot of opportunities for offensive wrinkles later in the season.

I agree on all fronts, but unfortunately people like Warner are comparing (and some expected) our passing, scoring and big plays wouldn't level off from the 2nd half of last season.

So even though stat wise we're slightly ahead of last year's pace as far as rankings, yards, TD's, etc. It's not up to the level of how we finished the year. Thus the criticism. But many things factor into that;

1. Teams now are scheming against Russell
2. Offensive Line problems
3. TE issues
4. Schedule heavy with VERY good defensive backfields (every team we've played is in the top 12)

I fully expect some more big plays and offensive outputs once Percy's on board and line gets back to health.

O-line shouldn't matter, it still shouldn't take 5 years to get open, these guys still don't get open when Wilson buys time, Baldwin is the ONLY one that is consistent, this goes for Tate as well as Rice.

Oline does play a part though sometimes there is no time at all.

There are times where receivers are open, and I'm tired of hearing about Wilson missing it, do we even know what the hell the read was at the time? you don't, its impossible to know, so please miss us with that crap tonight, people.

Receiver is an issue right now, I'm hoping we can just hold on through the season and playoffs and upgrade in the offseason, tired of Russell doing all he can and these guys still not getting open.

I hate our receiver situation right now.
