I know nothing about Samoskevich, but he must be pretty good if they gave up a 1R pick this year and a conditional 2R pick next to get him.

Kraken are in a bit of a mess. No star players want to go there while the team sucks. Ownership seem to delude themselves that the team can compete and put middling vets in that block young players path. They apparently just had a trade agreed for Robertson from Dallas to come and he refused to go which has embarrassed them. Hes a great player but even with him we probably still dont make the play offs.
I dont know if it's to do with the sonics coming back and them trying to rush a build or if they deluded themselves with where they were at when they made the play offs in year 2 but they need to tear it down and build and properly develop a young core.
Fully expecting a panic move before the draft that will set their cap back for years like they did with chandler Stephenson which was a head scratcher and hasnt worked.
