Do we know yet if it's serious?

I expected Helfet to make the team as the 3rd TE.

A couple different reports I've read now say he hurt his knee and shoulder on the same play. I don't recall seeing him grab his shoulder or anything when he walked off so hopefully it's nothing.

Good to hear. Thank you for the info. With McCoy done for the year, Helfet may have a chance to contribute if healthy.

I really like Helfet and hope that knee is nothing either. Of course it would have been nice to have McCoy but since he appears to be the achilles of the team............

No chance to repeat now. Turn out the lights, the party's over.

The issue with losing backups is the steep drop off when your starters gets injured. If Miller goes out now you would have Willson and......

Haven't heard anything yet but I wonder if the team brings in a vet from the final-53 cuts of other teams? They could do with Helfert what they did last year with McGrath by trying to put him on the PS. But if this injury is substantial they may have to waive injured him with a settlement.

I could see the scenario that played out last year happening again with the TEs.

Sorry to hear about Helfet but it's not like they can't find a 3rd TE after some cuts coming up next week. A 3rd TE is not as important as some make it out to be. Heck, they signed Kellen Davis late last year and went to the SB. Same thing may happen again. Deja Vu!

Don't we have that allen guy still>? I liked him better then cooper

Allen entered the game after Helfet went down. Great athlete but I have read he had a ways to go to catch up to Helfet due to poor route running and questionable hands. Maybe practice squad? Morrell Presley, a former WR, also lined up at TE for a few snaps.

Did he grab his knee with his wrists?

Ya know, since he has no hands

The Hawks could sign Kellen Winslow. Only problem is that since there are no Boston Markets in the Northwest, he'd probably get lost looking for one.

Thinking the 3rd TE may not even be on the roster right now. Maybe Finley, Morrah (if cut by Broncos), Davis (if cut by Giants), Fells (if cut by Cards), Byrd, Hannam, Mili, Heller

Is Itula Mili still playing? He's sure had a long career.
