I bow to you for being a kidney donor. May you live long and happy. There’s also a warning in this gang - know your meds and their side effects - even OTC drugs. Ibuprofen (Advil) is incredibly hard on the kidneys, and that’s what put Easley into kidney failure. I am a runner and I know other runners who pop it daily - they even jokingly call it ‘vitamin I’ - and I tell them to stop. I am also a kidney donor, and when they took my kidney the doctors told me I could never, ever have another advil - not even one. I’ve seen Tylenol mentioned in a few of these posts. That was not the culprit here, but Tylenol (acetaminophen) is destructive to your liver, especially if taken in proximity with alcohol.
This is the second post that mentions Tylenol inaccurately.I watched every home snap that Easley had and he was a force that our opponents could not ignore. He was vicious, smart, and effective. The team Dr. gave him kidney failure by giving him massive doses of Tylenol, ( ithink).. Easley had nothing to do with the team until Paul Allen bought the team and the old guard was gone. Sorry to hear of his passing. He was and will always be one of the Best Seahawks in history! Love ya Kenny!
I didn’t see this post before I briefly mentioned the Acetaminophen vs Ibuprofen aspect. There’s also a warning in this gang - know your meds and their side effects - even OTC drugs. Kenny was an incredible talent. No doubt had he had a complete career, he would be the unanimous standard for the position. We all love Kam and ET3, but Easley was the two of them combined. He was impossibly quick, caught the ball like an all -pro wideout, and hit like a freight train.I didn’t see this post before I briefly mentioned the Acetaminophen vs Ibuprofen aspect.
Thank you.
I’ve read before (multiple times but not sure exactly where) that Kenny already had kidney problems and that the high dose Ibuprofen exasperated it. Ultimately leading to complete Kidney failure.
He endured dialysis and did receive a transplant at one point.
Kenny also had some cardiac issues and had a triple bypass some years ago.
Not much out yet about what actually caused his death but I have to assume he just wasn’t healthy overall (relatively speaking).
Certainly almost impossible to not mention him as a top 5 all time favorite for any of us old timers.
Imagine the penalties that he would receive if he played his style in today’s NFL.Kenny was an incredible talent. This is hauntingly beautiful.Lumen Field’s arches are dark this evening as we spotlight one of the greatest sports figures in Seattle history, The Enforcer, Kenny Easley.
