Tough break....Was hearing something about an ACL, so I was prepared for it. He didn't look good when he went to the locker room.

So.....base nickel?

Blair, Amadi...?

Not likely.

Barton will be eaten alive.

Sucks to hear that about Kendricks.

Be interesting to see if they might use the big nickel package a little more, Pete didn't sound thrilled with Barton's performance last night

Damn...

...this is the reason that keeping Calitro and putting Barton on the PS would have been a good idea at the beginning of the year. Barton has looked slow and non-reactionary all season. He hasn't caught up to the speed of the NFL, yet.

Not seeing it anywhere here but Jerome Brown was also knocked out of the game from what I read. He is mostly a blocker so didn't hear his name after those two early passes where he got clobbered, also seen poor Lockett trying to block a DE, I say try valiantly but damn he was hit hard and down on the ground with the attempt.

Barton making the practice squad is laughable

Seriously not kidding:

Like losing Carson and Penny, losing Kendricks could be a blessing in disguise.

Injuries might be able to drag PC out of his worst impulses (running all the time when he has one of the best QBs in the game, and insisting on trotting out three LBs against pass sets all the time).

I get that Pete likes to play ball control but your RB literally had one less turnover than your QB on less than half of the touches, which is insane.

And I get that Kendricks was better than Wags and Wright in pass protection this year, but there's no way he's better than a DB against three wide. I just don't buy it.

We can only hope you're right, that Pete will come out with an actual non-predictable game plan.
And I know you're not kidding. Homer is playing nicely in the passing game so far.

In Hawk-Fan land, we're also hoping Pete plans to let the offense attempt to score in the first half.
Have you seen some of our "depth" DB's? Kendricks might actually be better, say, at covering TEs. Than say, Tedric Thompson and Lano Hill. I'm "sort of" kidding, but not really sure.

Certainly Thompson and Hill have to be better than Barton at this point in his career, in coverage skills.
Not really sure how we will get pressure on Wentz, but if we don't, we've got problems. Getting Diggs back will help massively, if he's available.

One concern would be that Eagles coaches would come up with game plans to expose Barton's inexperience, and milk that for all it's worth. Like NE, Brady torching Tharald Simon repeatedly in SB49, as he tried to cover their small, quick WRs..

Anyone interested in the link that I posted which doesn't have Kendricks to IR after many thought he tore his ACL?

I don't see your link behind the image tag, but I found this from the official team site:

https://www.seahawks.com/team/transactions/

and this

https://www.seahawks.com/news/torn-acl- ... te-carroll

So they officially are saying Kendricks has a torn ACL. But they haven't put him on the IR yet.

Is there an actual rule that says teams must have exactly 53 players? I ask b/c the only justification I see is that they have various choices to promote/get FA help across the team, and they might be waiting to see what happens with other guys' health before doing anything.

(On what he thought of Kendricks’ season) “I really like the way he plays. I like what Mike brings us. He’s a very active player. He’s an unusually instinctive, athletic guy for the position. That’s why we played him so much against three wides. He runs 4.4s. He’s a real fast linebacker. I hope that we’ll get him back and get him back with us. Look forward for that.” ---- Pete Carroll 12/30 transcript
(On his thoughts about Cody Barton’s performance in the game) “Cody did alright. He did a solid job. I’m hesitant to say he played great because he missed a couple opportunities there. He’s a good football player for us. Get him a whole week of starting and all the reps and stuff and he’ll do a nice job for us. He’s very able to play well for us.” --- Pete Carroll
