Dang, this thread was umm....well...

I, for one, am excited that we could get Kearse back, we need him!

As stated, I think we could win without him, but it's certainly only a positive that he's back and available. Thankfully we have the rare head coach who doesn't let himself get shackled by silly notions of having to put a guy back in for reps unless he's still the best guy to get those reps.
Spread the ball around -- More targets -- Keep everyone relevant, nothing silly about keeping everyone in the conversation.

The silliness I was referencing is when a starter goes out, and a backup goes in and outperforms him, at which point many an old school coach goes, "Well, you can't lose your job due to injury" and reinserts the starter in his old spot in a move that can only be described as a coach doubling down on his initial decision. Thankfully Pete doesn't operate that way.

I may be in the minority here . But Kearse is taking a roster spot IMHO of all of our WRs he is the worst . If he plays eh .if he don't won't lose much

Wrong, he steps it up in the playoffs, and will again on Saturday.

I agree. Sometimes his catches are scary to watch, but his play really shines as the stakes increase. I also like how he stays loose while working until the he's got the ball secured, unlike Willson who's arms get rigor mortis anytime the ball and defenders are in his proximity.

Love what we've seen from P-Rich, but I swear some of you on this board really get premature about anointing certain players as 'better' than others. Yes, P-Rich has done really well in the limited situation's they've put him in. Kearse has done it all for us, and, so far has shown a better ability to get off of jams to be on time for deep routes. He's best at catching in a gaggle of traffic as well.

Not saying that P-Rich doesn't have the upside to be our best WR, but he's not there yet. Let him grow into the job.

Anybody who isn't happy that Kearse is back, didn't watch last year's postseason.

I would disagree. The eye test and numbers both tell me Bryan Walters is the worst of our receiving corp. For instance I am a stats person, I know not everyone is but I enjoy the numbers. A week ago I was curious about our receivers and tight ends. I ended up looking up and typing out some numbers to compare numbers and here is what I found out.

(Games Played), fd=First Downs, yac=Yards After Contact, DVOA
Wide Receivers:
(13)Bryan Walters: 6/11, 57yds, 4.4ypr, 54.4% catch rate, 3fd, 39 yac, 0 drops, -27.2% DVOA
(15)Paul Richardson: 29/44, 271yds, 9.34ypr, 65.9% catch rate, 15 fd, 72yac, 0 drops, 1td, -15.1% DVOA
(9)Kevin Norwood: 9/10, 102yds, 11.33ypr, 90% catch rate, 5fd, 43yac, 0 drops, 19.4% DVOA
(15)Jermaine Kearse: 38/69, 537yds, 14.13ypr, 55.1% catch rate. 21fd, 238yac, 2 drops, 1td, -9.2% DVOA
(16)Ricardo Lockette: 11/15, 195yds, 17.73ypr, 73.3% catch rate, 5fd, 72yac, 1 drop, 2td, 50.1% DVOA
(16)Doug Baldwin: 66/98, 825yds, 12.50ypr, 67.3% catch rate, 42fd, 357yac, 3 drop, 3td. 5.4% DVOA
Tight Ends:
(3)Zach Miller: 6/7, 76yrds, 12.67ypr, 85.7% catch rate, 3 fd, 37yac, 0 drops, (didnt qualify for DVOA #s)
(10)Cooper Helfet: 12/24, 185yds, 15.42ypr, 50% catch rate. 9fd, 70yac, 1 drop, 2td, 9.9% DVOA
(6)Tony Moeaki: 8/13, 134yds, 16.75ypr, 61.5% catch rate. 6fd, 74yac, 1 drop, 1 td, 0.3% DVOA
(15)Luke Willson: 22/40, 362yds, 16.45ypr, 55% catch rate, 14fd, 223yac, 4 drops, 3td, 0.6% DVOA
Running Backs:
(16)Marshawn Lynch: 37/48, 367yds, 9.92ypr, 77.1% catch rate, 16fd, 413yac, 2 drops, 4td, 21.4% DVOA
(16)Robert Turbin: 16/20, 186yds, 11.63ypr, 80% catch rate, 9fd, 167yac, 0 drop, 2td, 83.3% DVOA

It's pretty obvious what effect legalizing marijuana has had on some of our fan base.

I'll let the videos do the talking so I don't get banned (bites tongue):

I'll would take Kearse at 1/2 catch rate @ 14 yards a pop.

At this point Kearse is only the most legitimate jump ball WR* on the team right now... and like others have pointed out, he was money in the Play-Offs, last year, for the Seahawks. You can't coach experience. And this is a corps that needs every ounce of it.

*Keep in mind jump ball targets are pretty much 50/50 throws.

Yup... he was money last season. Unfortunately he hasn't been that way this season. Hope that changes and he is money again. It can only help.

I disagree, those two TD's Kearse had were meaningless.
