Because Hurtt was spread too thin? Kind of hard to manage one department while you are also in charge of the entire defense.
Did he turn out a great defensive line when he was D-line coach the first time with Seattle?

Wasn't there guy in our community that was just posting about retaining coach Scott? Glad he will be back.

While they're at it, maybe now Senior Defensive Assistant can secure Roy Anderson back with us as well.

Also, Hurtt is an excellent DL coach. I loved and still love Pete, but did he interfere with the Defense too much for Hurtt?

That's probably a cheap observation. I don't think the 3rd down lack of defense was Hurtt's fault, but still better suited as a positional coach.
