A buddy and I drove down to AZ for 49 thinking we could get scalped tix. The only one we saw the whole time a guy pulled out $6500 cash to buy and the seller told him to, "Come back when you're serious."

$9K for 2 sounds like a bargain...
I hope like hell that not a single "serious" soul approached him about that ticket for the rest of the night and he went his janky ass home still clutching that ticket. Seriously.

I'd think it would be hard to decide; what if they lost, and lost badly... would the money have been worth it? I don't think I could answer yes.

$9k for two is still cheaper than anything I saw the day after this year’s NFCCG! Maybe even a bit of a bargain at this years prices?

I was at SBXLVIII. We were supposed to renovate our kitchen. My wife bought tickets to the game instead. The kitchen never got done. Worth every penny.
You can get 200 level seats for $5500 right now

Yes end zone but also section 207 for $5700

Stupid prices. Even if I had the expendable income I would not go, just out of principle. I don’t care if it’s my favorite team I have been a diehard all my life for, I cannot in good conscience, spend two or three months mortgage per ticket to watch a football game. It’s entirely absurd to me.

True story, was in the area of XLVIII and me and another dot netter bought tickets off of StubHub 10:30AM the day of the game. Paid $1560 per ticket for nosebleeds. Incredible experience and to the person that said it’s too quiet, not at that game and I guarantee it’s not gonna be at this game either because there are going to be a ton of Seahawk fans there. With all that said, $4500 is a lot of money for most people.

I love this team with everything I am, but no way I would or could afford 9 grand. If someone CAN, go for it. On the other side of it, could do a lot of stuff with 9 grand at home.
When I got selected for 49, my ticket was $950, second price range was $1500. You didn't get to choose which one. And from I hear, it wasn't way more 11 years later for those who got selected.
I had already planned to go if I got selected and it was 2 grand or less. Esp. since we had a place to stay for free, certainly helps a lot.
Flights though, ouch. Massive price gouge. Coworker paid a grand round trip, to the bay area from Seattle. A fricken grand. And some are going for 1300. Even if you do multiple cities, still around a grand. Then all the options, rent a car, drive down, fly back. Drive to Portland, direct to and from, etc.

Here and there
Putting a kid through college with another not too far behind. I love my Seahawks , I really really do, but I won't sacrifice my kids future for a once in a lifetime opportunity. Family first.. entertainment..it is what it is.. entertainment. Seahawks will continue without me, my kids future will hopefully be positive with setting college as a priority. No brainer.

Yep, home stuff, credit card bills, college, etc. Much more important than a football game. IF you can afford it, awesome, make it happen.
But 9 grand is a lot of money to a lot of people.

Agree would be too expensive. I was fortunate to see them at 48. Got lucky buying tickets on Friday afternoon when it looked like a huge snow game. $2250, mid way up in lower bowl in the donkey's end right on the goal line - could see ML picking up Skittles.

I expect this to be loud like the 48 game.

If I had a Time Machine I would absolutely pay premium to watch SB48 in person. Now? No way. Winning the second Lombardi is awesome but to see it in person? Meh. Certainly not at the outrageous prices tickets are going for. I’ll take my big screen TV and no lines to the bathroom thank you very much.

I have been tracking prices all week long and close several times

Then every time I think about what I can do with $5k (1 seat) or $10k (2 seats)

I can see every regular season game and have hotel next year vs one Superbowl....

Trips, golf clubs many other things

Just couldn't pull the trigger even if I can afford it. Just not how I was raised
