JSs best position group

The thread about KMcIntosh had some posts about anxiety around the RB position this season. To me, RB has been a strength of JS: finding players that contributed at a high level from many different places.

So... it made me wonder what people think has been JSs best position group. Where has JS and his team done the best job in talent evaluation over his time in Seattle? He has a lot of successes and some glaring failures. Getting starting level QBs is notoriously difficult but he's done well there. LB sticks out to me with current group and BWagz and KJ (I think LTatupu was a Seahawk before JS arrived, right?). There's ADBaldwin and JSN and a few other notable WRs but maybe that position was more "above average" than outstanding...maybe? ...and DLine and DBs...?

To you, which position group shows JS and his staff know talent better than the rest of the NFL?

(...and since we all know it's coming, has OLine been his Achilles heel over that timeframe?)

LB are good, but while Bobby held down 1 position for a decade, there was a revolving door at Will during the Carroll years and we cut both of MM's first LBs before we found Jones.

I would have to say it's DBs. It was a strength under Carroll, but it's continued with McDonald. This could be a symptom of having defensive minded head coaches too.

One thing that I will put 100% on JS is our DL. We never have marquee players in that group -- I think Michael Bennett was our last pro bowler before Big Cat -- but we always have a solid 2-deep rotation. I think that depth is why we always finish the season strong while other teams fade.

WR's is where he has been amazing. From Doug Baldwin to Golden Tate to Tyler Lockett to JSN to D.K. Metcalf.
JS has absolutely nailed the WR position over the years.

Edit: picking Russ in the third, Geno off the scrap heap, and Darnold out of free agency is impressive as well.

I think secondary. I mean we let two players go in the offseason and are still super deep across the board with talent.

When it comes to the QB position group, it’s hard to beat gambler John.



He’s been so good at it that other teams are probably a bit scared to trade with us for quarterbacks at this point.

Meanwhile, look at how many teams would kill to have a couple seasons of any of our recent quarterbacks.

While there is no definitive proof of it, I’m convinced that he wanted to get rid of Russ long before we finally did, and it was Carroll who kept holding on, just like he did with other players.

We have had some solid running backs, but we have not had a feature, multi contract, running back since Beast Mode. I am intrigued to see what this new concept of split carries does for that issue.

We’ve never been lacking for cornerbacks or wide receivers.
