Not even in the same stratosphere. A penalty for dunking is a stupid rule anyway. But that, along with spinning the ball isn't even CLOSE to some of the scrape's DK got himself into. Show me where JSN is starting fights or punching dudes after the play. I'll wait.
It is but at least there's a legit reason for it, at least the HANGING ON THE GOALPOST part of it.

Dunking on the goalpost is a penalty in the NFL because it is considered a form of unsportsmanlike conduct under Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1 of the NFL Rulebook. The rule prohibits players from engaging in actions that delay the game, are deemed excessive or taunting, or could pose safety risks. Specifically, dunking on the goalpost can damage the equipment, as goalposts are not designed to withstand the force of a player hanging or swinging on them, potentially causing delays to repair or replace them. Additionally, such celebrations can be seen as provocative or disrespectful, which the NFL aims to curb to maintain sportsmanship and game flow.
The penalty was notably enforced after high-profile incidents, such as when Jimmy Graham of the New Orleans Saints dunked on the goalpost during a 2013 game, causing a delay due to the goalpost needing adjustment.

I wish they could amend that rule and say that it's okay to dunk the football so long as they do not Hang on the Goal post and if they do, it's a penalty.

Looking ahead to the next game, Lattimore has been absolutely awful for Washington and they keep using him vs #1 receivers. If he's not getting beat he's taking penalties. Could be fun for us if he's matched up with JSN

I think he could get around 180+ yards in this game.

Meanwhile DK with 3 receptions for 46 yards or something like that against rhe Jags. 🤣

He also had a pretty pivotol catch stripped from him and INTd. Pretty embarrassing for a dude as physically imposing as he is. Which is the sad part of his story. Early on he was compared to Megatron and one could understand why because of his size and potential. But Megatron leveraged his size in every positive way possible (and he rarely dropped a ball). DK has given up the ball as much in strip fumbles , having the ball punched out and losing contested catches as he has won balls because of his sheer physical strength. His strength is most obvious between plays when he gets into it with DBs.

You can't necessarily say it's wasted talent because it seems like he is committed to being as good as he can be. I think he just has a much lower ceiling than a lot of people gave him credit for.

Hasn't stopped him from making millions though.

In the battle of David V Goliath, David wins again. Glad we have JSN.

Full disclosure: I did not watch the game, only the highlights.

I have to say from the highlights about 1/2 way through I'm like: "JSN is ******* amazing."

Highlight reel is just bam bam bam JSN.

Whether it's the Darnold/JSN synergistic combination or not. Sooooooooooooooooooooooo glad he's ours. Soooooooooooooooo glad DK is ******* history.

Could he go Hollywood? Maybe. But I gotta tell you even if he does, as long as he's performing like this? Reminds me of one of my old favorite quotes: "Ain't braggin' if you DONE it."

He's OWNING the league in yards - and by 30% against 2nd place!

Dunk away my boy. Dunk away. JSN dunk can be the new Lynch crotch grab!

What's funny is even after this weekend's bye, JSN is likely to remain #1 in yards among all NFL receivers. Another receiver would have to have an insane day to surpass it.

He’s on pace to break the nfl record for most yards in a season. Yeah he’s just on pace for it, but c’mon give some flowers.

Oh kudos to him for sure. He's tearing up the league. One off seasons don't tell the whole story though. Let's not annoit him above somebody thats wearing a gold jacket yet. Sheesh

Pitt, lighten up. It's not the player's fault if people make comparisons. Relax, the fact that people are talking him up means that....wait for it......he's really really good. God, I hope you're not gonna' spend all season downplaying what he does :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Plus, all he's saying is that he's on pace for it. He's not wrong. He IS on pace. I doubt anyone thinks he's going to be the next Steve Largent. But hey, he's the first JSN, and that's one of the top 5 WR's in the entire league.

It's titled JSN. So, yes. It is.

Does that preclude someone from commenting on someone else's post?
The post in question was obvious (to most of us, anyway) about DK, but you didn't mention that in your opening line. That might have helped. ;)

The NFL has become too soft. That was a 6’0” guy, in pads, that got amped and celebrated. Bottom of the goal post is 10’ btw.

Penalties are never good but the ensuing result wasn’t anything that was going to ‘hurt’ the team.

Largent is a legend. Love the guy. One of my favorites. But if you don’t think JSN has the potential to be better, you’re not watching the same game(s) I am.

He’s elite in every way. Folks forget how athletically gifted he is simply because he’s 6 ft or didn’t run a 4.2.

I’m ready for the fruit throwing and negative replies. I’ll just post his stats dating back to when he dominated at OSU until now.

I guess you didn't read where i said 'its what it looked like', not what it was.
I did actually, which can only be translated to what it looked like to you. But let's drop this minuscule item, shall we? (Edit: I've already dropped and will not respond to anything further on this.)

He absolutely has the potential to be better in terms of talent and ability. No doubt.
I mean you could probably already argue that if you stuck him in an offense with Zorn or Krieg in the 80' that he might have done better than Largent. The defenses he is being asked to diagnose, the plays he is required to know and the physical ability of the defenders he is playing against are all higher than anything a receiver faced in the 80s. And that's not to knock any of the greats from then.

Biggest question at this point is whether he will go on to be as durable as Largent was. It's one thing to have incredibly physical and mental ability. Availability is another important trait.

We are lucky to have him.
