JSN is not a problem. He is really good, especially when they work him from the slot. I think at the very least, JSN can be what Bobby Engram was to us.

I bet this team falls apart. They just don’t have any talent. We just act like they do when they play teams with awful QB’s. You’ll see. In 6 weeks you’ll see what we saw tonight.

I honestly think MM is going to cut a ton of players next year. And possibly John will be released.
This HAS to be sarcasm. If not, then I have nothing for you.

I haven't always been the nicest guy here when it comes to arguing my viewpoint, but this was just downright rude.

If I want to call somebody dumb, I do them the courtesy of backing it up with supporting points. More than a few times, I looked up information that I suspected would allow me to call someone clueless, I proved myself wrong with the data and realized I was the idiot.

We should earn the right to call someone clueless by at least putting in the effort to prove that they're clueless - but there's some data here that supports his eyetest. What that means? Totally up for debate.
Lighten up man, it was half sarcasm. But your point is taken.
People call people stupid or clueless all the time on here, apparently, it's not ok for me. Yes, it was harsh, but I was pretty pissed off after that game. JSN is one hell of a football player.
So, I stand corrected. Now, can we get back to football talk? I figured you and I were cool at this point ☮️

Why? Every time he goes down field he's got a guy wrapped around him, or.. instead of breaking free in the oppo direction, he runs right toward the defender.. Every Time, they panned on him thats what it was. He seems fine for a emergency outlet but.. dang, all the huype on him and..nothing, BOBO does a much better job getting seperation.
Not that I'm trying to pile on here but did you guys see the catch JSN made where he fell and then waited for the defenders to touch him down? He had time and space to get up and push for more YAC.

To be fair he has improved this year, per PFF, but he's not the threat most of us would like him to be.

Counterpoint:

When we drafted JSN and Charbs last year, this is what I was hoping that we would see... that is, an improvement in our offense's 3rd down efficiency with passes to both JSN and to Charbs coming out of the backfield... and although I wanted to see it happen last year, it's actually starting to show and be a factor.

I'm beginning to question the talent pool here at .net too.

Might be time for a rebuild.

I think some apologies are in order. It is absolutely *not* just the OP noticing this.

I don't think this means JSN is bad or anything. I think he's savvy, agile, and has a special knack for hauling in the tough/clutch/low probability catches - but he absolutely is not separating this year like he did last year.

The thing that baffles me is how no one even bothered to try to investigate whether or not OP was onto something. They just basically called him a stupid dickhead in nicer words without so much as researching where that perception might've come from.

That's disappointing, man.

@Bobblehead One hell of an eye, man. I think there's something to what you're seeing.

Just because we're cool doesn't mean I won't disagree with you when I think you've gone too far. Same with anyone else here.

All I'm saying is that big accusations or even putdowns have to come with a lot of supporting data to make that vitriol somewhat warranted.

Absolutely. But there was a time when you talked down to me like a 5 year old. So, there is that history.

OK, conceding the point that JSN gets less separation this season, perhaps that's because now there is some history in the league and video on his game and DCs are paying closer attention to him. He's still making the catches and getting decent YAC as well. I still consider him a damn good WR that is coming into his own in this, only his second year in the league.

Seems pretty damn good at finding an opening in the zone on 3rd down. Very Tyler like skill that I suspect he will continue to improve on. All we hear is how incredibly polished he is as a route runner. And this is from several former players. And he RARELY drops passes.

You're not wrong.

But when people start labeling him a bust (not OP) that can't get open, you better be ready to stand in the fire at .net.
