Awesome news, and well deserved. Locking up the core is what maintains the team's value. Love having JSN as one of the central figures for this team for a long time. Love his attitude, and work ethic. He just doesn't have any semblance of diva, or the odd loose screw, that we see from so many star receivers.
Nope. He is giving me Larry Fitzgerald vibes

Can we get some fans together to get in Puka's ear, telling him just how much better he is than JSN, and anything less than 50 million AAV is insulting?
I don't think we need to. I'll bet the same Ram fans we see online with hurt feelings from the 2 losses to us this year have this covered.

I was thinking of other teams going "oh crap" with this number. Not just the rams an Puka. The Cowboys and Pickens will now get interesting even though he's been tagged. Also any other of top guys who's contract comes up the next year or two.

And I know this is probably obvious anyway, but this contract is a huge exclamation mark on the influence a QB and offensive coordinator have on a WR's contract. Kubiak and Darnold probably added tens of millions of dollars to JSN's contract. Puka is just going to add to that story. It'll drive further dissent in locker rooms like Philadelphia and Minnesota.

Hopefully the Lambs sign Nucua to $55M/year and are down to $125M in cap room. Congrats JSN! Let's lock up Spoonman.

This is as safe an extension as they come. JSN is only 24 and he's already the most technically-sound wideout the league has seen in some time. I'll bet his game ages fantastically. Larry Fitzgerald is who comes to mind for me in what I see.
I don't think he has Fitzgerald's size, but he seems to have premier on field smarts, soft hands, and acceptable speed. Its early in his career, but he could be that good. Would love to have a WR that tortures the rest of the division like LF did.

I get that, I wasn't saying their styles were the same, I was referring to how I see his game aging. Hopefully a rare one-team man like Fitz was too.

No disagreement. I just hope JSN can put up similar production on a long career with the Hawks.

This must be fake news. I heard that the purse strings were sewn shut to prep for the upcoming sale of the team! Now I don't know how we'll keep Bobo. You can't have the TWO highest paid receivers on the same team, the cap just won't handle it.

Seriously though, I'm all in on the "sign JSN before Nacua signs, and let the Rams pay even more" bandwagon. and I'm happy to have JSN on the team for the long haul.
Someone must have given the lawyers and the accountants the day off.

This takes away some of his leverage since we have the option to tag him now (we could have anyway, but now there's no debate on who to use it on), but I don't suspect it'll come to that.
Tagging him would be in 2028...if that's part of the thinking now, we've got serious challenges signing spoon. He'll be expensive, but considerably less than JSN.

Hope? I'm looking forward to the day where JSN switches to #80 for one game so that three of the top 10 wideouts in NFL history will have worn that number for the Seahawks.
