Is he not having surgery on it? That seems like a injury that takes longer to heal? Guess maybe its not a complete tear than, maybe that is it. At least the hawks have lots of competition and depth at the position.

They do? I see this as 3 of our likely 5 best pass rushers OUT for week one. Down to Avril (who has barely donned a jersey) and Bennett.

Some seasons a part of the team just has problems, this year it is the DLine. With luck it will improve when the guys get healthy or a diamond in the rough will be scoured from the castoffs or the hopefuls already here. Next man up. Keep the faith!

Sobering. And with expectations through the roof, every game is going to have that "must win" feel to it and every team on our schedule has us circled on theirs. Every fan of every opposing team will be hostile / ugly.

Win, lose or draw, it's going to be great.

I've been pleased with Hill so far, but oddly I'm a little excited by this bad news. This situation could end up a blessing in disguise if Michael Brooks grabs hold of this opportunity. Don't forget about Jaye Howard either.

Preseason isn't perfect for talent evaluation, but Howard and Brooks have flashed more dominance than Hill has. Brooks has been like the Mayowa of our DT group: he looks terrific against 3rd stringers, but you wonder how he'd fare against starter quality players. Unlike Mayowa, Brooks does not look undersized or lacking in strength, so I think he's got a pretty nice chance of being a real find for us. But until they test him there is no way of knowing for sure. Seattle needs to find out if Brooks can handle himself against higher competition.

The sucky part of the game, but time for the others to realize their chance to grasp the golden ring.

Agreed. In year's past, this would be much more devastating. But with Pete's team, injuries (except for KEY starters like RW, Sherman, etc) are opportunities for the next guy, because everyone on the team is talented and hungry to play...show what they can do.

Maaaaan...

I guess we can look on the bright side that it's not season-ending. If we're lucky, he'll be back by the Jacksonville or Houston game.
