An offense line designed under the Schneide doctrine. In our case, a line totally consist of players scouted, picked,, by Schneider and coached by a coach hand picked by Schneider.
Sounds like roughly 26 other franchises too. Not very distinct to Schneider honestly.

So far, it looks like our fate is going to boil down to the draft. There's going to be a lot of pressure for JS to hit on it. If this turns out to be a mediocre or failed draft, it's not going to be a good look for him.

FYI Abe Lucas looks better than ever on his IG stories showing his movement, he’ll be back better than ever…. Everyone hates Jamal Adam’s trade, but we gave up a lot during the season, when we needed a pass rusher… different circumstances than trading a player in off season… I am not crazy about JS, but I do believe the OL will be better this year… Olu, Haynes, etc taking the step…

What was/is Lucas's injury?

Can’t remember exactly, but last year he was mainly posting him lifting, now he’s been posting vids of him doing lineman drills and he looks fast and strong… something he wasn’t (fast) last season
Correct me if I'm wrong (please do), but I never once heard from him or the team what the injury was that kept him out for a year and more. There was a lot of smoke (and no denial from him or the team) that it was a chronic, degenerative condition in his knee(s). If so, that's not something you bank on.

I wonder how many difference makers/long term starters will it take to make this draft a successful one?

I am amazed with the effort. I never would have predicted all this change. A plus john. The cap, the picks, the sentiment rescue adding Kupp. Wow. We R different now. Let's see what we can add in the draft its always near my birthday. I'm happy we are not the Steelers, the Cowboys or Vikings. The Steeles may have anything we are done with.

I'm not going to get bogged down in semantics here, but we replaced Geno with Darnold, and Metcalf with Kupp. We replaced our own holes, and maybe, or maybe not to our advantage.
Right. I think he deserves credit for replacing Geno and DK with at minimum lateral moves and in the process freed up millions in cap space while acquiring a 2nd and a 3rd round pick. He basically acquired those two picks for free.

I hate to be the negative guy. Who doesn’t like John Schneider the person. For years I thought he was the greatest. But as I evaluate his body of work over the last few years, I find myself questioning his player talent judgement.

I really don’t know that a Seahawk GM had a worse year than John.

Here is a list of Free Agents signed last year, that are no longer with the team:

George Fant, Rayshawn Jenkins, Tyrel Dodson, Jerome Baker, Laviska Shenault, Laken Tomlinson

With the exception of Jenkins none of these players played well.

Here is who we lost last year:

Bobby Wagner – a solid performer/leader

Jordyn Brooks – read about how much Miami likes Brooks. He was a perfect fit for Mike MacDonald

Damien Lewis – anybody that plays fantasy can see the turn around in Carolina’s running game. Lewis is a stud.

Dre Locke – who appears to be about a million times better than Sam Howell.

We were all worried the Oline might be an issue coming into 2024. To help fix the problem, too much celebration, he drafted Christian Hayes 81st overall. Not only did he look horrible the coaching staff benched him because he lacked the desired physical strength! Mean while the 49ers with the 86th pick grabbed Dominick Puni, who started all 17 games and is considered to be a future all pro.

Last year’s Oline was the worst in the NFL. It was frustrating to watch. Has there ever been a good Oline during his tenure?

And we went through another Offensive Coordinator.

It frustrates me that we only got a 2nd pick for DK when we gave up 2 1sts and a 3rd for Adams. For years we have been giving away draft picks like they don’t matter. The 2021 draft is a great example only 3 picks: Eskridge, Tre Brown and Forsythe (none of them are on the team).

John Schneider has many skills and actually has a lot of wisdom. I think he should be bumped up to president.
What happened to forsythe
Don’t forget he signed Leonard and parlayed Jerome into EJ and had the leadership to move on quickly from things that weren’t working. You’re not wrong about his drafts though. There have probably been more misses than hits but his hits have gotten us a superbowl and I am still of the opinion that he’s got this ship pointed in the right direction again and I appreciate his shrewd maneuvering

I agree with @Sperrydogg for the most part. A week ago I thought there was a good possibiiity that we would be going into the draft without a QB or a WR to replace Metcalf. I think that the Darnold and Kupp signings were solid, good value deals. Not saying that they're slam dunks, but positive moves with a high ceiling. The DeMarcus Lawrence deal falls into the same category as those two acquisitions. Add to that, getting Ernest Jones at $11 million a year was a reasonable deal for a proven player. It was a really good week after a couple of stunning trades.

But I would give Schneider an incomplete for now. What he's done is just the start. He's still got to fix the offensive line. And he's got to nail the draft. Two huge jobs still to be done.

I agree with your incomplete, but this is not the first time I have thought to myself, “we’re screwed we got no picks our qb is weird we’re done, oh snap Schneidy fixed it baby! Let’s go!!”

Most NFL trench players need a year of NFL weight training to really take off so this is not unheard of. The problem is that I think JS is over estimating the talent the roster has along the interior OL.
The offensive line really has the ability to ruin the entire season, and he's playing with fire. If the season is ruined because he didn't do anything to fix the biggest issue that everyone and their grandma can see, it would be totally justifiable to fire him.
