It's probably the fact that he was born and raised in Wisconsin and has a long professional history with the team. Honestly, who wouldn't want to run the team they grew up rooting for? Plus, Green Bay is generally known as a good organization and arguably the league's best branded franchise.
That being said, I'm willing to bet Schneider views this organization as sort of his baby now. It's something that he and Pete built from the ground up, and I would think that means something to him. If he is able to turn this franchise into one of the truly elite ones in the NFL for a long period of time, he will go down as one of the greats. If he were to do the same in Green Bay, he'd likely still be in Ted Thompson's shadow.
