Very nice! Amazing how under the radar this flew.
On ESPN710 this morning they said it was specifically done that way at Schneider's request.

For whatever reason he didn't want it going public (then?).

I like that they keep pertinent info internal. I read other sites and see how the Jets, Cowboys, etc. have loose lips. Players, anonymous sources, whatever let info fly. Not the Hawks.

Oh, and John Schneider is the man. Go Hawks!

You're going to like the way we evaluate and acquire talent. I guarantee it. 8)

Too early. Not in the same way Tech meant. There will be public backlash on FB. (Men's warehouse reference)

Managements efforts to keep this extension in the back ground shows once again it is not about them and it is all about the team

Anybody still worried about Schneider taking off for Green Bay?

I'm a little confused by the time line. If it was a 3 year extension as of a year ago and the original contract was thru 2012, then the 3 year extension would cover thru 2015 ..... rather than the reported 2016. I'm under the impression that Ted Thompson's current contract runs thru 2015. So although I am not going to worry about it, it does seem to me that both contracts expire at about the same time.

I guess we can postpone any worry until after the 2015 season.

his current contract ends this year. His new contract will begin after this year, which will run through 2016.

Coach Pete Carroll's five-year deal runs through the 2014 season. GM John Schneider initially signed a three-year deal through 2012. Schneider and the Seahawks quietly extended his contract through 2016. The deal has been done for more than a year, without fanfare. Carroll would seem to be in line for an extension over the next year or so.

OK ..... I see it wasn't a 3 year extension but rather a 4 year extension.

I'm wondering why worry at all? What is it about Green Bay that has you (or anybody) thinking he'd even contemplate leaving Seattle? I don't get it.
